Chapter 153 Mother scolding
Her smile disappeared.
“Isn’t it too late to apologize? Is this that I taught you?”
I lowered my head more, and I didn’t know what to say, I felt so confused as she came in like she forgave me already, but finally I looked at her
“I wanted to help my family, because I couldn’t take that if any way to help. For fuck’s sake.”
ny of you would have got hurt.” After a deep breath, I continued. “I couldn’t find another
Mum’s eyes widened.
“Watch your mouth, Gideon!”
I only looked at the ceiling, then I looked at her.
“I understand if you and dad will kick me out of the family, because of this, but…”
My mum frowned while I was talking, band. She didn’t let me finish the sentence.
“What are you talking about, Gideon? Who wants to kick you out of the family, for fuck’s sake?”
This time my eyes widened, but mum misunderstood me as her embarrassment was written on her face.
She sighed, obviously didn’t know what to say.
“It is like I became a traitor. I made an agreement with the enemy, and that is unforgivable.” I said
sadly, but mum looked at me after a sigh.
“Gideon, you are my son. How could I exclude you from the family? I would never do that with any of you, doesn’t matter what you did. I am not angry with you because you wanted to solve this case, and I am actually proud of you because you could handle everything alone. The only thing you must understand that makes me furious and disappointed is you did all this by yourself.” She sighed. “Do you know what could have happened to you? Do you know how much trouble you could have put yourself into?”
“Mum, it was something that dad wanted to hide from us. He didn’t trust us enough to discuss what was happening. The only thing I knew at the beginning was he forced me to be with a woman I hated, especially when I got Alice back finally.”
“I know, darling. But even if you felt like you couldn’t talk to your dad, you should have talked to me at least. I am your mother. Who could understand you better than me?”
“Dad found a solution to treat my misery, and you seemed happy about that. I didn’t want to ruin your happiness.”
She shook her head.
“Gideon, I love your father. This is the reason I married him, but my children’s wellbeing is the most important to me. I am really sad if you haven’t realized that by now,” she sighed. “A mother, when it comes to her child, can see a lot more than you think. I can read you so easily, therefore I knew you dislike Amber. Alice left the target so high there aren’t many woman can hit that, and Amber is the one who shouldn’t have even tried.”
I looked at her. She smiled at me.
“I always liked Alice, and not just because I wanted to brag with her.”
She emphasised the word brag, which made me smile.
“You truly loved her. And seeing another child of mine finding happiness made me thrilled. And now that you got her back, I am thrilled again.”
“Mum, I am truly happy to hear that, but I’m guessing you know what is the relation between Alice and Riccardo.”
“I do.”
She said, then she sighed.
Chapter 153 Mother scolding
“A D’angeli and a Sullivan together. That is a tremendous problem, Gideon. The two families were always on the opposite sides, and as far as I knew the history, enemies never reconciled, and lived together happily after”
I lowered my head and nodded.
“So that means you have to choose. Your family or Alice’s.”
I looked at her again and shook my head.
“I can’t. I can’t choose, mum.”
She smiled again and rolled her eyes in disbelief.
“Gideon,
, are you l listening to me? Did anything make sense I told you? Don’t tell me I have wasted my precious time talking to you.”
1 frowned.
“This is what I am saying. You are my son, and I don’t care who makes you happy unless you are truly happy. Alice Lessard or D’angell, that’s doesn’t
matter.”
I looked at the ground again. The words she said eased me a little, but that was her opinion only.
“But mum, it doesn’t matter you don’t care, dad won’t allow this to me. And therefore, he won’t allow us to keep in touch.”
She looked at me, surprised, and she put her hands on her hips.
“It seems like there are still a few things for you to learn about marriage.”
I looked at her, surprised and questioning.
“What do you think in a marriage, who wears the pants?”
I chuckled.
“The man.”
She laughed.
“You men are so clueless. A good looking and smart woman, like me, leads a husband without him noticing it.”
I chuckled again and shook my head. Apparently, she didn’t like my impression at all. She frowned
“You don’t believe me?”
