Chapter 158 Keep your mouth shut! 

“Gideon, first, I don’t like unexpected surprises, especially when it’s about my daughter.” 

I sighed. 

“I know And I’m sorry.” I tried to look regretful as much as possible, but that did not calm him. 

*I understand you want to live together, but you also know that well we must ensure about her safety. Till that rat moves freely out there, you can’t move imprudently, and absolutely not without my knowledge.” 

I looked at him, trying to find the right words, but he continued. 

“If you want to stay in that house, you need to make it suitable for that. If you know what I mean.” 

I nodded. “I will do.” 

I knew exactly what he meant, and how much it would cast me. It will cost me a lot. 

In another situation, I would have just told him to mind his own business, but I knew at that moment I was so minor that sharing my opinion with him would be like committing suicide, so I said nothing. Alice was his daughter, and he was Riccardo D’angeli. I had to mind my place. 

“I’ll send a few of my people to check the house so we can decide what has to be done. Til then my people will be around.” 

I swallowed the words back again, before they would have left my mouth, avoiding a disaster to happen. Obviously, I looked funny as he started

I frowned. He shook his head, still laughing. 

“I know that is your property, and I don’t want to make rules for you. I don’t want to tell you two how to live, but because she is my daughter and you are only a minor yet, I have got to interfere 

He sighed 

“I am not trying to degrade you. It is just that I want to keep you both safe. We can agree with an appointment suitable for both of us.” 

“Right.” I said. That was the only word I could say. Even though he said he did not want to degrade me, I felt offended listening to his concerns about my abilities and treating me like a clueless child.

I nodded, and just when be finished, Alexandra and Alice appeared again, like Alexandra knew the time exactly her husband needed to scold me. 

They sat down. Alexandra sat next to Riccardo, and my Alice sat next to me, holding my hand. She looked happy and seeing her like that made me calm. I needed to admit that my pride became less important when it was about her. 

We spent about an hour in the D’angeli house. Riccardo changed completely, and he treated me like his future relative again. That made me calm. 

We sat in the car, ready to go back home, when Alice turned to me. 

“What did he say 

“Don’t you know?” I asked her calmly. 

She shrugged her shoulders. 

“He told me he was angry at me because he chose that flat, especially for me. In a safe place, and it took him a great effort to make it safe as well. That was the only reason he didn’t want me to move somewhere else.” 

“He’ll check the house, and probably I have to make some changes as well.”

She looked at me suddenly, and apparently she worried about what I think about it, but I smiled sadly. 

“I don’t care, Alice. I’m not arguing, especially not with him. If this is needed to be with you, I will do it.” 

She smiled and kissed my face. 

“We need to travel anyway soon! 

This sentence made me frown. 

“Why?” Lasked 

“My competitions are starting soon. The Olympic games will serve as the finale. You remember?” 

“When?” 

“Next month.” 

“Where?” 

“In Canada.” 

“Right.” I said, still trying to understand the informations she just gave me, but she chuckled after a few seconds of staring at my face. 

“I mean. Would you come with me?” 

I glanced at her with a frown. 

“I wouldn’t miss it. Of course I’ll be with you.” 

She grinned, kissed my face again, and she put her seatbelt on 

“Come on Gideon, we still got to see your family.” 

I looked rolled my eyes. 

“Yeah, how could I forget that?” 

She laughed, I laughed with her. I put my sunglasses on, and I turned the engine on. Even though I had mixed feelings about this meeting, I drove to the Sullivan house without sharing my concerns with her. 

When I parked my car in the usual place, I was not surprised to see everyone’s cars there. I sighed, forgetting that Alice was in the car as well. I only turned at her suddenly when I could feel her hand on mine.
