Chapter 173 The slippery ice
We changed clothes, and we nearly reached the door when a voice interrupted us..
“Gideon, Alice, how long will ill take? Will you come back for dinner?” Nora appeared from nowhere.
Gideon wanted to answer her, but I was quicker.
*Nora, just please make some food, and if we aren’t back, you can leave in time.”
She did not like my answer at all I did not know what she expected me to say, though. It seemed like she wanted an exact explanation of where we were going, what we were going to do, and what time we were going to come back. That annoyed me.
She nodded, and I could feel Gideon started poking me gently to leave it. I followed him outside, and when we sat in his car, I quickly forgot what happened a few seconds ago.
I typed the address into my phone, then it showed the way for us. He just turned the engine on when I had an idea
“Gideon, we should go to the store first. You need skates.”
“Alice, I don’t think I’ll go on the ice often. I think we can just rent one.”
“They aren’t too good. And I guarantee you will fall in them, so just listen to me.”
He rolled his eyes, but nodded. He drove to the store. I quickly found a suitable one for him and I bought it for h

him.
“No, this is my present for you.” I grinned. Since I was back on the ice, I had my own money. No one took it from me by force like Charles did, and I felt thrilled being able to buy presents for him.
He sighed, and he shook his head. He drove to the place.
“I really can’t believe I’m doing this.” He said while watching me kneeling in front of him, tightening his skates.

I laughed while I looked up at hi
“You won’t regret it, I promise.”
“Yeah.” He sighed.
“Okay, stand up.” I said when I finished. He did.
“Move a bit. See if it’s comfy” he did what I said, and it looked like he could walk in it easily.
“Do they keep your ankle?”
He stared at me instead of answering Apparently, he thought I was just over worrying.
“Gideon, I just don’t want you to fall.”
“Okay. Can we go?”
I shrugged my shoulders.
I held his hand, then we walked to the gate. There were only a few people on the ice. There were a few children with their parents and a couples,

“This is slippery.” He said in a tone that told me he was extremely worried about be would fall.
“Gideon, sten to me! The only thing that holds you back is fear. This is why they recommend you start to skate when you are little. Young kids aren’t scared to fall. I’m here. Just do what I say. Be a kid!
He just stared at me,
“Okay, just hold the plank, and I will hold you on this side. Just move your feet like I do.”
He took a deep breath and followed me. I started very slowly, but I increased our speed like he didn’t even plank go and after another five minutes his grip on my hand started to loosen. 1 smiled at him.
“How do you feel?”
“Better.” He said, and this time there wasn’t any fear in his voice nor anger,
We just skated around next to each other, holding each other’s hand.
“Gideon, you are doing very well.”
He laughed this time, which instantly warmed my heart.
notice it.
“Actually, I quite enjoy it, but I don’t know how the bloody hell you can move on the ice like that. Even what Ava does is unbelievable.”
I chuckled.
“Gideon, I was four when I started.”
“True”
We skated for about an hour. I was so happy I could do the thing that I love the most with the person who I love the most. After he apparently felt confident, he even let me pull him to skate with the speed that I do. He enjoyed it, especially because I knew how to stop before we would have hit the board. So in the end, we had a lot of fun.
“We have to come again.” he told me while we changed our shoes.
I laughed.
“Maybe next time you ask me to teach you to jump.”
“I don’t think so, but I had to admit that this is fun.”
Great. I thought. I slid close to him. He was apparently happy, and that made me feel perfect as well
When we arrived back we both were in a good mood, but as soon as I met Nora’s weird gaze, mine disappeared.
