Chapter 177 Better without heart 

I looked at her. She smiled. 

“Alice, if you want to win your competitions, then you must eat that. It’ll make you strong. I made it especially for you. It’s mainly liver and heart 

I looked back at my food, and smelling its weird smell, I knew I would not be able to eat it. I looked at her with a smile. 

“Thank you.” 

I took my fork, and I only hoped she would leave the dining room, but she just stood there, watching me. Well, I thought I would try. She made rice ava side dish, so I tried to put only that into my mouth. 

“Alior, if you don’t try it, you will never find out if you like it.” 

I looked at her smiling figure again, then I looked back at my plate. I ate a piece of liver, which I did not like, hut i ate a few times when I was little. After I told my mum I did not like it, she only made it for Charles, who found it delicious, 

After taking a deep breath, I ate three of them, but with the last amount I accidentally put a heart into my mouth, and when I chewed on it and felt its texture, I could not help. 1 felt nauseous immediately, and that small amount that I ate wanted to leave my stomach. I quickly rushed to the nearest toilet to throw up 

After I was done, I sat on the floor for a little while. I could not believe what I just did. I felt guilty when I thought about her. Even if I did not like her, she made some effort to do her job and also I could not forget that she had a little one to feed by herself. 

I took a few deep brea 

breaths when I heard knocking on the door. 

“Alice, are you alright?” Gideon’s voice made me calm instantly. I stood up, then I opened the door. He looked worried, and Nora stood behind him, covering her mouth. 

“Yeah, I’m fine. I’m sorry Nora, I don’t know what is happening with my stomach. I might just need a rest” 

Gideon frowned. 

“I’ll take you upstairs.” He held my hand, and we walked up. 

“Gideon, don’t worry, it’s just the food that she made.” I told him when we entered the bedroom. 

“Alice, didn’t w 

you feel unwell recently?” 

I frowned. 

“No, I’m fine, it’s just the food, Gideon.” 

1 sat down on the bed and he kneeled down in front of me and held my hand. 

“I mean… we are quite active, and even if I try to be careful, that could happen… you know…..” 

I closed my eyes in disbelief, and I started laughing. 

“What? I’m serious.” He said, but I shook my head. 

“Gideon, calm down. I’m not pregnant. My period always comes in time, and you know that, I’m not nauseous usually, and I feel fine. It’s just the food that she made. I hate lives, and she also put some chicken heart in it, which made me thrin up. Yack…” I sighed. “Thave to stop thinking about it if I don’t want to be sick again.” 

He looked 

lat me suddenly, then he made a fire. 

“Why did she make chicken heart?” 

“I have no idea where she got that from, but I think I can’t see any food for a while, which is a problem, because I have to eat. I need energy ” 

“I’m smuy, honey,” said he while he caressed my lace. 

Chapter 177 Better i 

“Lay down a bit. Let’s see if you will feel better and later I will take you out for a nice meal, okay?” 

I nodded, but it was hard to hold my tears back. H 

He stood up 

“I’m going to have a chat with her about it.” 

I looked at him, as he was clearly angry. 

“Gideon, I don’t want you to sack her. I mean….I would feel bad for her little one. Just tell her to ask me next time if she wants to make something special.” 

“Alice, we can’t keep her, if she isn’t suitable for the job, just because she is a single mum.” 

“Gideon, just give her another chance. I think she won’t do this again.” 

He shook his head in disbelief. 

“Women.” He said, then he left the roon… 

I laid down, and soon I fell asleep. When I woke up, I checked the time, and I discovered I was sleeping an hour. I did not want that at all. The time that I could spend with Gideon was short enough. I did not want to make that shorter. 

I went to the bathroom, and 1 washed my face before I walked downstairs to find no one. I thought Gideon was outside, so I went to the glass door to have a look. While I was looking on one side, I have not realised Nora was coming and I crashed into her. She had a tray in her hand with two glasses on, which fell on the Eoor. But the glasses did not break fortunately. 

“Oh, I’m sorry, Nora, I didn’t see you.” I apologized. 

“Alice, wake up before you come down,” she said with obvious anger. I bent down to collect the glasses from the floor, and I put them on the tray. 

She had a meaningful look at me, and she left. I frowned. I knew I was basically jealous, but I did not understand why she had two glasses, and why the hell she was always so nice to Gideon, but so bad to me 

“Stop It, Alice.” I said to myself, and I went outside. Gideon laid outside with his laptop, working on something. When I got there, he looked up at me and smiled. I sat down next to him, I bagged his waist, and 1 fald my head on his chest. He kissed my forehead, 

“Do you feel better?”
