Chapter 34 The forbidden performance. 

I took a deep breath, and I went on the ice. I waved to the audience with a huge smile on my face. They all clapped and whistled. I could see and hear how happy they were to see me. I skated around the rink a few times and I did a few jumps

My layback spinnings and my cantilever amazed the audience just as much as my Salche quad, and my Camel spinnings were foot perfect as well. Before I finished the program, I did a combination of four Toe Loop, one Euler and a triple Salchow. 

Everyone clapped and whistled, and I felt thrilled. 1 skated around and bowed at the audience. I was really proud of myself. The adrenalin still worked in my veins, as I couldn’t stop smiling and waving. 

The first moment when I fell back to reality was when I arrived at the door of the paling, and I met Gideon’s killing gaze. I didn’t know him too well, but I knew he was fuming. The first wind of regret hit me just then. 

As I left the ice, he held my arm. Probably it looked gentle, but I could feel it wasn’t gentle at all. He took me at the back, straight to the changing rooms, and he pushed me in. 

“Get change. I’m waiting for you here.” 

He said that coldly

I did what he said. 

While I was in the changing room, I tried to look around, hoping that I would find a window or a door that I could use to escape. I couldn’t find anything, of course. As I was looking for a way out of this, I felt the full weight of what I just did. Lilly’s story was on my mind. I remembered what she said, and recalling Gideon’s fuming face just made me feel terrified. I gasped, and I cried. I thought I might scream when we leave, then people might realize I was in trouble and they would help me. As I was thinking, I heard a knocking on the door. 

“Alice, you have two minutes to come out.” 

I couldn’t answer. I quickly changed, and I still tried to think about how I could get out of here. 

“Alice, you have one minute, and I go in.” He shouted with obvious anger in his voice. 

I felt my chest grow heavy. At that moment, everything came to my mind. Lilly, the list of rules, my dream about the Sullivans

I started shaking, and I sat on the floor, sobbing. I only jumped when the door opened up, and Gideon stepped in. He stopped for a second, then he moved closer. When he took my arm to pull me up from the floor, I lost control. I tried to free myself from his grip. I couldn’t, of course.

He was like he didn’t hear me. He just held me tight and led me out. And the worst was, he used a corridor that was completely empty. I still tried to make his job harder, so he pushed me to the wall.

I felt lost when we stepped out of the street at the back of the building.

He said that with anger, and he slammed the door before he left. I was still gasping. I didn’t know what was coming, and that made me more scared.

I was fuming. Really, I felt like I could break something, I needed to take deep breaths, not to lose my mind with her. It wasn’t just she was disobedient, and she didn’t give a shit about what I said, it was what she did to herself. When I heard her name, I didn’t know how I felt. First, I thought she disappeared, because they might took her, actually this came to my mind, when my dad told me that, everything was going as it was planned, but when I saw her on the ice, like never, skating happily with a huge smile on her face, I thought that was the end of the world 

Watching her skate in a beautiful dress and confidently perform difficult moves made me love her even more. But the daze didn’t last long. I knew she had attention already, but I was sure her performance was just would give our enemies a perfect opportunity to take her away. And after they saw how much she was worth, that would be their goal. 

As I looked around, I saw a few men who I was sure belonged to Riccardo’s team, and that just made me more scared. 

Gemma couldn’t stop talking about her. She said she was a liar, and she’s done against the rules, so she wanted to make me promise that would chastise her hard. She suggested I should break her legs, so she never could skate again. I felt like she would be the one who would have a broken leg if she didn’t shut her mouth.
