Chapter 97 Disappointed
“…I thought… I thought you wouldn’t be here today, Beth.” She looked at me and frowned.
“Did you party last night?”
1 looked at the ice under me.
“No, I didn’t”
“Then what have you done, Alice? Don’t tell me you look like this because you went to sleep on time?” She was angry, and the scolding that I got had Its result instantly. Tears appeared in my eyes, which I really didn’t want. I didn’t want her to see I had a weak side. 1 tried to take deep breaths to hold my emotions back
“Alice, I I expect you to answer me.”
1 swallowed my tears back, and I looked at her.

“I just got emotional yesterday, as I saw something related to someone that hurt me. Are you satisfied?” I asked her using a tone that maybe was 04:1!
acceptable, as she was much older than me, and she was my trainer.
I was ready to receive her anger, but instead of that, somehow her facial expression softened.
“Alice, come here.” She said, using a normal tone this time. I skated to the wall. I was truly surprised when she held my two hands.
“Alice, a divorce is never easy. I know, I had three. But you are still so young. First, you are beautiful and kind. You’ll find the one who deserves you, but you have that prerogative to have a wonderful talent and ability that can take you to the top.”
She sighed. I had many questions in my mind, but I let her finish.
“You know that a figure skater’s career is ending quickly. You are nineteen. I’m sorry to say that Alice, but even if you are very lucky and working incredibly hard, you probably can’t compete in the following Olympic games. Your time is now. This is what you really want, isn’t it?”
I nodded
“Then you have to work on it now. Men come and go. You can have many, but we can become a gold medalist Olympian champion only once or twice in
our lives.”
I nodded again. She sighed.
“Alice, I know sometimes I go hard on you, but this is my job, to push you through, to lead you to the podium. I’m not a monster, believe me. I worked with many girls like you, and I know if you aren’t healthy in your soul, you are going to struggle on the ice. That is why I’m asking you to let me know if you have any problems from now on. You don’t have to tell me everything if you don’t want to, but if I can help, I’m happy to help. We need to trust in each other. Okay?
I nodded, but this time my tears rolled down on my cheeks. She gave me a tissue, and she waited a little.
“Do you feel better?
I nodded. She took the tissue and held my hand a

“Now, I will not torture you with the Salchow. We are just going to practise your free program. I’m guessing your bottom is pretty much hurt after yesterday.
Finally 1 laughed, and 1 nodded. She laughed too.
“Now then, warm up while I change my shoes, and I’ll be with you in a few minutes.”
nodded again. And as soon as she let my hand go, I skated around.
I think the wall between us collapsed. We had a quiet happy time together, and finally we could work together without hatred. That really made me feel better.
Chapter 97 Disappointed.
The training hours passed quickly, and shortly I found myself in the gym with Garreth. He was more gentle than usual. They were a couple, so probably Beth told him I wasn’t well. We mostly stretched and worked with my balance.
And the end of the training came finally. I was happy to finish. The only thing that I wasn’t happy about was to go home and receiving questions.
I sat in my car for a while. I looked at the clock, and I still had a half an hour, so I decided I would have a walk at the seashore.
The weather was warm, and the sun nearly burned my skin, but I loved it. I enjoyed it. Actually, I always wondered how could I love the sun and the warmth that much. I always thought that it was because I spent most of my time on or around the ice, but probably the answer could be found in my bloodline. My Italian origin.
I had a short walk, then I sat down on the sand. I closed my eyes, and I tried to turn off my mind for a few minutes.
I checked my phone, and that was time to go home. So I stood up, walked back to my car, then I drove back home. I still sat there for a few minutes after I parked my car in the garage. I tried to get my mind ready to answer all the questions.
“Do it, Alice.” I ordered myself, and I left the car. I walked inside the house, and I walked back to my room. I just was at ease when I heard knocking on my door.
I stood up to open it, and I met Riccardo’s g

While he stepped in, he held my hand and he pulled me to sit down on the sofa. He sat next to me.
“How do you feel, Alice?”
