Jenna’s face froze in shock. 

Was Hunter implying that he didn’t want a divorce?

“I’m fine with it, but I’m not sure how long Jenna can hide the baby bump from everyone. Once people start talking, it won’t be easy to quiet them down,” Mia said, thinking to herself how rare it must be to find a wife as magnanimous as she was. 

Hunter, his expression dark, helped Jenna to her feet before grabbing Mia’s wrist and dragging her into the elevator. 

As soon as the doors closed, he cupped the back of her head and kissed her. 

Mia instinctively raised her hand to cover her mouth, but his lips pressed against her fingers, warm and insistent. 

With a frustrated growl, Hunter pulled her hand away, his lips capturing hers fully. His kiss was gentle, laced with the faint taste of tobacco, and Mia found herself slipping into the allure of it. 

The elevator reached the ground floor, and the sounds from outside snapped them back to reality. Embarrassed and furious, Mia started hitting his chest. 

But Hunter simply pressed her face into his chest, his voice hoarse, “Stop moving. I’ll carry you out.” Surprisingly, Mia complied, staying still as he lifted her and strode out of the elevator. 

When Sam saw Hunter carrying a woman, he froze for a second, but quickly pieced it together. There were only two women Hunter would ever carry, Mia or Jenna. 

But whenever he held Jenna, he never allowed her face to be pressed against his chest. In fact, he always made sure she kept her distance. 

Now, seeing him holding a woman so intimately like this, there was no doubt that it had to be Mia. 

Could it be that Hunter went upstairs just to find her? 

Sam hadn’t quite figured it all out when Hunter approached him. 

“Open the door,” Hunter ordered. 

Sam quickly got out of the car, opening the back door. 

Hunter climbed into the car with Mia in his arms, locking the door behind him. As soon as they were inside, he placed her on the seat and leaned over her. 

Mia’s eyes widened in alarm as she saw the desire burning in his gaze. In a flash, memories of being attacked in the car by those men flooded her mind, and she reflexively slapped him across the face. You’re shameless!” she spat. 

Hunter’s face darkened, but instead of stopping, he pulled off his tie and bound her wrists above her head. He kissed her fiercely while his hands found her waist, teasing and squeezing the soft skin there.
