Mother Bai took Bai Jixuan and Bai Zhan with her, and with the invitation that she had sent to the Lei family, the elders of the Lei family also followed them.
After all, while Bai Meiyu was only sending her family to gain experience, they truly were in the need to gain some supplies and experience.
Mother Lei was clutching a golf club in her hands as she thanked Bai Meiyu and Mother Bai.
"We are really grateful, Sister Yan," said Mother Bai with a polite and elegant expression. "You have no idea how worried we were when we first heard the news."
Mother Bai waved her hand dismissively and remarked, "These are tough times for everyone. There is no need to thank me."
After speaking, Mother Bai couldn’t help but feel a bit troubled after all; she had only invited Mother and Father Lei because she was scared to go alone with her children.
She had her own selfish motives and felt that she was not worthy of this praise.
Their small group soon left the building in an inflatable boat.
Bai Meiyu watched her family leave and pursed her lips before going upstairs. She first took a look at her nephews and sighed in relief when she saw that they were still sleeping. She then created a mirror copy of herself with water and sent it after her family.
Though she knew that her elder brother had gone with them and her mother and second brother would be fine, she still couldn’t help but worry about them.
With the mirror copy following her family, she was not worried about them getting hurt. Not only could she see what was going on outside but she could also control the water puppet. Of course, Bai Meiyu would have liked it better if she could go with her family but with her two nephews staying at the house, she couldn’t leave them alone.
On the other side, Mother Bai took her two sons with her and asked them to row the boat to the closest supermarket. Since it was their first time going out, she did not want to go far and take risks without having enough experience to deal with these sudden changes.
When they arrived at the supermarket, Mother Bai and the rest noticed the lurking zombies that were walking stiffly while chanting ’ho ho’ again and again.
"We will go and look for food supplies," Mother Bai said to the Lei family while clutching the knife in her hands. "You all go and look for drinking water; it doesn’t matter if its cold drinks; as long as we can drink something to quench our thirst, its enough."
"Can’t we go together?" Mother Lei asked as she looked at the zombies. She had never seen such a terrifying sight before and didn’t want the group to break.
She shook her head and then said to the Lei family, "Yueyue said that these things can smell us. If we head inside together, they will sense us even more quickly, so its better to break the group. At least these things will have a hard time noticing us."
Though Mother Lei was not willing, what else could she do other than agree with Mother Bai’s plan?
After Bai Zhan took care of the zombies lurking outside the market, the group separated and snuck inside the building.
