Though Bai Qingshi and Su Hu did say a lot of flowery words to win over Bai Feng when they were locked up in the cell, they didn’t mean it. Nor did they feel guilty over the things that they had done to Bai Meiyue. The only thing that they were honest about was feeling regretful.

Of course, when they said that they were regretful, they meant that they were regretful over the fact that they were caught and failed in ruining Bai Meiyue.

Thus, even though they saw Bai Meiyue leaving the building, neither of them asked Bai Feng to stop and help Bai Meiyue. Instead, they hoped that Bai Meiyue would be bitten and killed by those monsters who were lurking outside for all the trouble that she had put them through.

What was more, the whole world seemed to have gone crazy. There were zombies and mutated rats lurking on the streets. Even in the building where they were living, a few zombies were lurking inside of the corridors. At that moment, Bai Qingshi and Su Hu absolutely refused to stay outside and wanted to go inside their house.

After all, even if there was no electricity and no water, the house was still safer than being outside!

Seeing that they didn’t say anything, Bai Feng pursed his lips. He brought the two of them to the building and hid the motorboat in his usual spot before taking the two of them upstairs.

Once they arrived at the penthouse, Bai Feng went to his room, ignoring the stinging sensation on his wrist where he was bitten by the mutated rat, and changed his clothes into a much more comfortable set of clothes and walked out of the closet.

He then took out a few pieces of ammunition that he had collected with the guns, as well as the bullets and cash. Even though he knew that it was not going to be used, he wanted to keep it in handy just in case.

Once he was done, he slung the backpack over his shoulder and then walked out of the room before saying to Bai Qingshi and the rest,

"I am going to find Yueyue. You all stay at home and don’t go outside."

"You–you are going to bring that bitch—" Chu Xia began but was silenced when Bai Feng shot her a look.

He looked at Chu Xia coldly and questioned, "Aunt Chu, when you were in the prison, you kept saying how you were sorry for the things that you did to Yueyue and wanted to apologise. Now that you are out of prison, you are back to calling her a bitch? Were the things that you said in the prison cell all lies?"

Chu Xia choked but before she could say anything, Bai Qingshi got to her feet and slapped her in the face. He then turned to look at Bai Feng and smiled at him politely, "Feng’er, don’t listen to your mother; you know she is a bit arrogant and careless. Go and bring Yueyue back home."

"She is all alone and looking for supplies; I wonder how she is doing." Bai Qingshi pretended to be a good and caring father now that he was in the safety of his house, leaving Bai Feng to look at him with a hint of confusion and annoyance.
