Yan Wanning wasn’t being harsh. She was just being truthful. If her children didn’t head out, how would they continue eating these warm meals? At the same time, she felt annoyed with Chu Xia and Bai Qingshi when she recalled how those two tried to snatch their supplies just now.
They didn’t dare to gather supplies but they were quite gutsy when threatening her daughter. Yan Wanning used to hate Bai Qingshi and Chu Xia but at the same time, she was quite fearful of the two of them. After all, they made her stay in the countryside and never let her take a step out of that place.
But now she couldn’t help but think that they were not as powerful and influential as she thought. They were weak just like her; the only difference was that they had connections on which they could rely.
Thinking like this, Yan Wanning no longer felt as scared as she used to in the past when she remembered her ex-husband.
When Wang Ba and the rest heard her mutterings, they looked at each other with a thoughtful look in their eyes. Everyone took Bai Xue’s house as their safe haven. For them, that house was similar to a life-saving straw and everyone was rushing to cling onto it without considering whether the straw could even bear it.
In their eyes, as long as they could avoid swimming in the murky and risky waters, they would be fine. But Bai Meiyue was different. Not only did she dare to swim in the dangerous waters but she also dared to hunt. So how could anyone blame her for eating and drinking well? She deserved it.
As for those who blamed her for not sharing her supplies, it wasn’t that Bai Meiyue was heartless but she disdained those freeloaders. Maybe if those survivors had half of her guts, then she might be willing to share her supplies with them!
For a second no one in the hall spoke before they all got to their feet and walked upstairs to continue with their work. It seemed like if they wanted to survive, they had to adapt to these changes as quickly as possible. The job that Bai Meiyue had given them wouldn’t last long and they couldn’t rely on Bai Meiyue.
She wouldn’t let them even if they wanted to.
Only Meng Qibao had a different course of thoughts as he turned his head and looked at the door of the house from where Bai Meiyue and the rest walked out.
On the other side, Bai Meiyue rushed downstairs like a galloping horse when she thought of the number of nuclei that she could collect; her blood started to boil. Her eyes flashed with excitement but as soon as she stepped down the last stair, she realised that the zombies that she had been looking forward to were all cleared up.
The crystal nuclei was gone and the temperature of this floor was inexplicably hot.
"Show off!" Bai Jixuan scoffed, causing Bai Meiyue to raise her head and look at the man who was standing on the other side of the corridor.
Lei Qian! This man was awake.
Bai Meiyue looked at his hands that were covered with flames and then took in the rest of the people behind him who were staring at him with awe. Her lips twitched as she realised that her precious crystal nuclei were taken away by this group of people.
Damn it!
