Bai Meiyue hummed in response. There was no point in hiding it and she never wanted to hide her powers to begin with. Now that more and more people were awakening as supernatural beings, she didn’t believe that those big bosses in the bases would pay her special attention.
Now that the dangerous period had passed, even if others were to find out that she was an ability user, no one would pay special attention to her.
"Coincidentally, I am a fire ability user." As he spoke, he lit the tips of his fingers and showed it to Bai Meiyue, who sighed, looking completely unimpressed. Seeing this, Lei Qian was a bit surprised and he asked, "What? What’s the matter?"
"It’s nothing," Bai Meiyue shook her head. She didn’t see any point in telling Lei Qian that the children of conflicting powers were born with dual powers, even though it took a long time for them to awaken this power; once these kids awakened, they would cause the entire base to flip upside down.
And if they inherited the most powerful skills of their parents, then it was simply game over for everyone.
Though Bai Meiyue didn’t want to join a base, she couldn’t help but mourn in her heart. It seemed like she had to live as a single mother; if not, she would have to pay for the damages every day.
In the past, she didn’t know who the father of her son was and joined the base casually. Now that she knew who it was and what kind of skills the father of her child had awakened, she would rather stay alone than join a base.
Now she could only hope that her son would take mercy on her and inherit the water and wind power instead of ice and fire. Because if he inherited the latter—even Bai Meiyue couldn’t help but shiver.
Lei Qian didn’t know why she suddenly stopped speaking. He blinked his eyes and asked, "Do you want to go out with me tonight?"
"Yes, of course. Killing zombies is quite a romantic date, don’t you think?" Bai Meiyue teased the man, who chuckled softly. He wanted to reach out and hold the woman in his arms but he knew that he couldn’t cross his lines. Not yet.
Bai Meiyue might be willing to talk and joke with him but he noticed that she was quite uneasy with him around. She didn’t notice it herself but Bai Meiyue rubbed her fingers nervously whenever he was around her.
Thinking of this, Lei Qian couldn’t help but curse himself. Why did he act like such a beast on that night? Even if he was drunk and thought that the things were happening in his dreams, he should have at least held himself back. Now it was good; he had left a scar on Bai Meiyue’s heart.
Lei Qian was furious with himself but at the same time, he didn’t have the heart to let Bai Meiyue go. He knew that she deserved better than him but he would rather work on himself than let her be with someone else.
