"Sorry," Bai Meiyue reached out and ruffled the little fur on the head of the little pup. "I forgot that you were not treated well in the past." She was so excited when she saw Ciyi talk that she completely forgot about everything.
Ciyi shook her head and said, "It's alright, master." She paused, then she added, "I am really hungry, master. And if you don't mind, can you bring me some meat? The liquid diet that you gave to me is not good."
When Bai Meiyue heard the complaints of the little pup, she chortled. It was a good thing that the little thing was bubbly and not hung up on the past, or else it would be problematic.
"Alright."
However, when Bai Meiyue turned around and headed downstairs, the scent of the durian that was left in the kitchen made her stomach churn once again. It seemed like her mother was in so much of a hurry to leave the kitchen that she forgot to put this stinky thing inside the fridge.
Bai Meiyue covered her mouth and tried to calm the nausea down but no matter how hard she tried to stop herself, it didn't work. In the end, she had to turn around and head back to the restroom where she threw up again.
After a long time, Bai Meiyue slumped down on the floor. Her face was covered with sweat and strands of hair were sticking all over, making her look even more vulnerable than she usually did. It took her a long time to calm down. When Bai Meiyue felt a bit better, she got to her feet and turned to walk out of the restroom.
But as she turned on her feet, she saw her mother standing at the threshold of the restroom. She was looking at Bai Meiyue with a sullen look on her face but even then Bai Meiyue could notice traces of worry in her eyes.
"Mom."
Bai Meiyue walked over to where her mother was standing. Her expression was pitiful as she stared at her mother, like a child who did something wrong but still needed the protection of her mother. When Mother Bai saw that Bai Meiyue was almost on the verge of crying; she reached out and hugged Bai Meiyue. She wiped the face of her daughter lovingly and questioned in a heartbroken voice, "What's wrong with you, child? Why are you sick like this…?"
Though Mother Bai understood why Bai Meiyue was being stubborn, she couldn't help but wonder if there was a possibility of giving up on this child. Because unlike her, who only needed to fight with her in-laws when she was pregnant with Bai Meiyue, her daughter was different.
She was living in the post-apocalyptic world. Mother Bai couldn't even begin to imagine Bai Meiyue standing tall in the zombie apocalypse with a big belly. How was she going to survive!?
So, she didn't dare to question Bai Meiyue. She hoped that her daughter would give up on this child. But upon seeing how Bai Meiyue was willing to ruin her body instead of giving up on the child, she felt worried.
When Mother Bai thought about these things, she couldn't help but worry about her daughter. She didn't want to bring up this matter but now, upon seeing her daughter suffer, she couldn't stop herself anymore; she needed to talk with Bai Meiyue. ƒгeeweɓn૦vel.com
