Bai Meiyue spat out a mouthful of blood. She looked at the stain on the bedsheet, and her expression turned miffed. However, a second later, her expression cleared up when she felt the energy within her clear up. She could feel the core within her getting stronger. She raised her hand and then allowed the energy within her core to flow through her fingertips, and soon a small ice parasite formed in the palm of her hand.
This was a skill that Bai Meiyue had tried to learn in her past life, but her spiritual energy was always lacking.
Ice parasites. They were tiny, thread-like worms with no distinct mouth or head; if they were not seen clearly, no one would know that these things were even moving and were alive. If used correctly, they could easily give a person a slow, painful death by absorbing all the heat from the body of a person.
In the past, Bai Meiyue had tried to create these ice parasites, but as small as they were, they were hard to create because they needed really strong spiritual energy and now that Bai Meiyue had become a sixth-rank ability user, the feat that was once quite hard for her had become quite easy.
At that moment, while Bai Meiyue was relishing the mark that she had crossed, Yang Wei was still pacing in the corridor. Dawn was about to break, and yet his wife hadn’t given birth to the child. Everyone was in a hurry as they moved in and out of the delivery room. Just as Yang Wei was getting worried that his wife was in trouble, one of the nurses, Sister Lin, came out of the room, carrying a large basin of blood in her hands.
Seeing this, Yang Wei immediately rushed forward and stopped the woman from leaving and asked her anxiously, "My wife? Is she okay? Is she alright? Why hasn’t she given birth even though it has been so long?"
"What’s with the hurry? Do you think that giving birth is that easy? It’s really difficult for a woman to give birth to a baby, alright?" She rolled her eyes and added, "You still need to wait for a little while. The dilation has only reached about two fingers. We need a lot more."
After she finished speaking, she dumped the dirty water in the bathing room and then walked back inside. She didn’t seem too worried, but even though she was calm, Yang Wei still felt rather worried. How could he not? He was simply dumbfounded after listening to the words of Sister Lin. What did she mean by the dilation had not even reached the desired point? How difficult was it to give birth!?
Those who heard Sister Lin’s words, they were simply shocked. They could never even imagine the sight that was happening inside the labour room.
As they were paying attention to the screams that were coming from inside the labour room, they didn’t notice the maggots that were wriggling past the cracks of the bathing room floor and rushing towards the blood that was thrown inside. They were not very big and seemed like they were just born, as they were terrifyingly pale and looked horrifying.
However, just as they came out, the potted plant that was sitting next to the door reached out and grabbed them through the many tendrils and within seconds, they were gone.
