Apocalyptic Disasters: Carrying a bun and hoarding supplies novel Chapter 70

After an hour,

Bai Zhan parked the rubber boat at the remote corner of one of the largest malls in the city.

The mall that was always filled with hustle and bustle, with lights glittering, was now shrouded in darkness.

"Stay here," Bai Meiyue told Bai Jixuan and then she climbed inside the mall with Bai Zhan following after her. Lei Yan and Lu Yu followed them as well, while Lu Yin looked a bit hesitant but she still gritted her teeth and followed the rest of the group. There was no other way; though Lei Yan had enough supplies of personal hygiene, Lu Yin didn’t!

She could follow the group and look for the things that she wanted.

Because not many people came to get supplies, the mall was eerily quiet.

"We are going to separate here," Bai Meiyue told the rest of the group.

After she finished speaking, she handed the torches to Lei Yan and her group.

Lei Yan was really scared of the darkness that was shrouding the mall and she turned to look at Bai Meiyue before saying to her, "Sister, why don’t we go together?"

"No, I can’t come with you all the time, so you might as well get used to this," said Bai Meiyue, as she did not want to coddle Lei Yan too much. "For now, you can simply scout this floor and get as many supplies as possible. As for the rest, tell me; I will bring them for you."

More importantly, she was looking for something that she could use to barter the safety pods. She could not take Lei Yan with her.

Hearing Bai Meiyue’s refusal, Lei Yan didn’t insist; she simply told Bai Meiyue what she wanted. "I want some brown sugar, vegetables, and a set of new clothes. We didn’t have the chance to stock up on these things. I think the weather is about to turn cold, Miss Bai. but we don’t have enough warm clothes at home, so if you don’t mind, can you bring them for me?"

Bai Meiyue nodded before turning on her feet and then walked past their group without looking at Lu Yin and Lu Yu. Though she was kind, her kindness was not charitable. She was not going to pay attention to someone who obviously wanted to go against her.

She reached the foot of the stairs and then handed Bai Zhan the second space pocket that she had exchanged after exchanging some bottles of chilli oil.

"Here, try to stock up as much as you can in this pouch," she had turned the setting of the space pocket into that of a pouch such that it resembled one. "It can store as many things as possible," she paused and added, "This is a newly developed thing, so try to hide it from others."

She didn’t care if her brother doubted her words, as this was not the time to worry about such things.

Bai Zhan indeed had his suspicions but he didn’t say anything and nodded before running to a corner.

Bai Meiyue watched her brother go and heaved a sigh of relief when she saw that her brother did not ask her anything. She then turned to look at the stairs beside the elevator before climbing up slowly.
