The woman nodded without even daring to say a single word. Only then did Bai Meiyue undo her rope and let the woman sit up straight.
"Thank you," the woman bowed with an appreciative and terrified look on her face.
"There is no need to thank me." Bai Meiyue eyed the woman carefully and her eyes flickered twice. Though the woman did resemble Shen Zhen, her appearance was way too shabby. She was wearing a dirty yellow and brown baggy shirt that belonged to the mall with matching brown pants.
The woman was way too thin and her hair was thin and brittle. There was no way this woman who looked like she was having a hard time meeting her daily needs was Shen Zhen’s sister.
Bai Meiyue’s eyes dimmed slightly. She then asked the woman, "Where are snacks and expensive supplies stored? Don’t dare to lie to me. If I can kill those four men… you are not my match either."
"I... I will tell you... please don’t kill me. I—I will take you there."
Tong Huan looked at Bai Meiyue, who was staring at her with an indifferent gaze, anxiously.
Even though she didn’t know how this woman took down these four men, she heard the screams of these four men. Compared to these fugitives, Bai Meiyue seemed more ruthless and scary.
She didn’t dare to go against her and could only agree with Bai Meiyue’s request.
Bai Meiyue also noticed that this woman was obviously starved by the four fugitives. Her lips were parched and her clothes were hanging more loosely on her frail body. This woman was no match for her, thus she remained unbothered by her.
Instead, she took out a pack of bread and a bottle of water from her space while using her bag as a shield and threw the two things at Tong Huan.
"Eat something first; I don’t want you to faint."
Tong Huan forgot all about saying thanks and immediately tore open the pack of bread and started to eat. She stuffed three to four pieces in her mouth before gulping down water.
If not for the fact that Bai Meiyue took pity on her and handed Tong Huan two packs of bread and hams, Tong Huan would have even licked the crumbs off the packets.
She drank another bottle of water and wiped her mouth with the back of her hand. "Sorry, I—I was just too hungry."
"The people in the city seemed to have gone crazy; they tied me up and threw me in the closet without bothering to check up on me again. I don’t know how long I have been locked up in the closet."
She thought of the terrifying days that she had spent in the closet and then said to Bai Meiyue, "There are not enough snacks left in the mall; those four men were going crazy while feasting on free food. It was only when they realised that the rain was not getting any slower that they stopped eating too much food."
With that, she placed the key in the lock of the counter that had the jewellery pieces on display and turned to look at Bai Meiyue. "Do you want me to step out again?"
"Yes."
Bai Meiyue was going to do some serious cleaning, so how could she bother with the woman? She handed her an inflatable boat and said to her, "You can take this and leave. There are still some groceries left on the second and first floors; you can take some with you."
Since this woman handed her what she wanted honestly, Bai Meiyue was in a good mood; she was not cruel enough to leave this woman trapped in this mall. However, it was a pity that this woman was not related to Shen Zhen.
Earlier she had read her name and knew that this woman was called Tong and not Shen.
Bai Meiyue thought that if this woman was Shen Zhen’s sister, then she would have used her identity as the saviour of Tong Huan to make Shen Zhen follow her.
Unfortunately, reality was different from the dreams.
If only she knew!
