The sunlight sneaked in from the thick curtains and awakened Jean who was sleeping calmly on the bed.
Slowly, Jean opened her eyes and found that Zed was no longer there.
Feeling lazy, she decided to rest for a while longer and closed her eyes. After a couple of minutes, she opened them again and realized she was flushed with shyness.
Thinking of the romantic moments that took place last night, Jean felt both happy and shy.
After eliminating the misunderstandings between them, it seemed their love life had gotten better.
Giddiness overtook her and she pressed her face against the pillow to stop herself from smiling too hard.
'Jean, you are an erotic girl now!'
Lying on the bed for a while, Jean suddenly thought of something. Quickly, she got down from the bed and looked at the clock in panic.
Seeing what time it was, Jean started to fluster.
'Oops! It's ten o'clock now. How did I not realize it?' thought Jean.
Both Zed's grandfather and Jesse's grandfather were present here today. 'If they find out I wake up so late, it may create a bad impression, ' worried Jean.
Rushing into the washroom, she quickly finished the morning wash. Coming out, Jean selected the clothes she wanted to wear today, combed her hair, and hurriedly ran out to meet everyone.
When she entered the living room, Jean was surprised to find the house to be quiet.
Seeing the empty living room, Jean stood there stunned. After stopping herself from panicking, she hurriedly took out her mobile phone and called Zed.
The phone rang for a long time but no one answered it. This made Jean even more anxious and she continued to ring him.
After the call was put through for the fourth time, Zed finally answered it.
Jean let out a sigh of relief and quickly asked,"Zed, where are you now?"
"I am in the company. I had a meeting just now…" Zed lowered his voice and asked,"What happened?"
"Grandpa… I woke up and found that there was no one in the house…" Jean spoke in a lowered and panicky sound.
'Oh my God! Zed was not with grandpa now. Where is grandpa?' she thought, internally panicking.
"Don't worry," replied Zed when noticing the worry in her voice. He continued,"In the morning, I heard that Jesse would take him and Grandpa Dan to go out for fun. Maybe they saw that you were still asleep and left without you."
Instead of making her feel better, his words had the opposite effect. Jean let out a cry scaring Zed.
In a teary voice, she spoke,"It is all my fault. If I didn't get up so late, I could have gone with them. Zed, I must have given grandpa a bad impression."
Unable to talk anymore, tears started to slide down Jean's delicate cheek.
"Jean, take it easy," Zed pacified Jean on the phone. "Things are not as serious as you think. Remember that you are my wife. Benjamin won't really blame you. You can rest assured! Whatever happens, I will take your side!"
Zed understood the extent to which Jean cared about Benjamin's impression and wanted to help her calm down.
'However, it was I who tired Jean so much that she overslept.
It should be blamed on me, ' Zed thought and felt guilty for his carelessness.
"What should I do? What should I do now?" Ignoring Zed's comforting words, Jean continuously muttered and blamed herself for her stupidity. She wondered trying to come up with a solution.
Zed was sorry that Jean was so distressed, but he couldn't think of anything to sort this.
