"Don't mind Moore and Avery's business anymore? Of course, I don't want to care about them, but you just played a trick to force Moore to see Avery work for the ad shoot with you again," Zed laughed reminding her.
"I'm curious about Avery's daily life, so I do hope to see how Avery works. But indeed I have some other reasons for Moore to accompany me there. You know that it's only been one day since they made their relationship official. Besides, Avery is a shy girl. She doesn't know how to make the most of her special features to attract a man. So I was creating one more opportunity for them to get along with each other. Besides, Moore can have a chance to get to know Avery better," Jean said with a smile.
"What can I say to that? You're just too considerate." Zed smiled and reached up playfully tapping Jean on the nose with his finger. "Tell me frankly, where have Moore and Avery been? Don't tell me that they just go out to have their moments. I won't buy that."
"Well, I know that I couldn't hide anything from you," Jean replied jokingly. Jean's face suddenly was serious and she let out a deep sigh. "Avery went back with Moore and they want to inform Adolf the news about their relationship. I support their decision. They should tell Adolf truthfully, and it doesn't matter whether he agrees with it or not."
"Do you think Adolf will be happy for them?" Zed frowned with concern.
"I'm not sure. I know very little about Adolf, so I don't know how he will react. But I do think he is a very calculating man. Just think about it, Avery works with him for so long and they are together almost every day. If Albert hadn't told us that Adolf is fond of Avery, then Adolf would have kept his feelings for Avery a secret for a very long time. It's so terrible that Avery was totally unaware of his feelings for her. So I think Adolf is by no means a tolerant and simple man. If Moore and Avery keep hiding their relationship from him and Adolf finds out the truth himself, who knows what he would do. That's why I think that it's best that Avery tells Adolf everything herself," Jean explained.
"I agree with you that Adolf is a calculating man. But I don't think that they should tell Adolf the news just yet." Zed's frown deepened at Jean's words.
"Why?" Jean looked at him surprised and asked with a thoughtful expression on her face.
"I can't see through Adolf, either. But Albert isn't reliable. Remember what he did? I don't trust him. Indeed, Avery has been working with Adolf for several years and they have earned each other's trust, so he wouldn't do anything to hurt her. But it is hard to tell whether or not Adolf will accept Moore as Avery's boyfriend. My intuition tells me that Albert is trying to destroy the confidence between Adolf and Avery,"
Zed looked at Jean and said with a worried tone.
"Yes, I agree with you. Albert is conniving, and because of that I told Avery to honestly confess everything to Adolf beforehand. Or else, if Albert happens to know that Moore is Avery's boyfriend, he will surely use this information to his advantage and manipulate things." Jean saw the serious expression on Zed's face, and quickly added, "If you think this isn't the right way to handle this, I'll just call them and tell them to come back now." She then helped up her mobile phone.
Zed shook his head and put his hand on Jeans' mobile telephone to stop her. "Well, now that they are already on the way, then just let them go. Maybe I think too much and the whole thing may not be as bad as I thought. Perhaps Adolf will accept their relationship after all. What's more, it's better that they tell Adolf the news rather than try and hide it from him."
"Albert is such a bad guy, but I suppose that he won't be discharged soon, so I don't think he is going to do anything to hurt Avery," Jean comforted herself.
"That's true!" Zed answered agreeing with Jean. "Let me take you upstairs."
"All right." Jean smiled as she put her arms around his neck and leaned her head against his chest, allowing herself to be carried upstairs by Zed.
She raised her head slightly to look up at Zed's handsome profile and a tender smile appeared on her face. "Zed, I wasn't joking when I said to Avery that I am so lucky to marry you, and you do spoil me too much. See? Now I even rely on you to take me upstairs every day."
"Honey, it's my pleasure to help you do anything." Zed looked down at Jean with affection and sincerity. "Jean, I hope that I can carry you up the stairs whenever you need me to for the rest of my life."
"No, it will be hard for you to carry me upstairs when you are old," said Jean with a chuckle.
"Don't worry, my love. We will have sons and grandsons, and they will help me carry you upstairs." Zed looked deeply into Jean's eyes, and he was suddenly very serious. "Jean, you must promise that you will grow old with me and we will love each other for all of our lives. Promise me that."
"What's wrong with you? Why are you suddenly so emotional today? Is it because of Moore and Avery? You see they are getting along so well with each other, and now you are jealous of them?" Jean joked, teasing him.
Zed shook his head in disagreement. "No, I just want to tell you that I love you. Don't you want to grow old with me?"
"Of course I want to!" Jean slightly squeezed her arms around Zed's neck and sighed, "I just don't want you to carry me all the time. You'll be very tired. When my sprained foot is completely healed, there will be nothing wrong with my arms or legs, and I don't want to burden you all the time. Zed, you're already very tired with your work. I don't want to make you feel even more tired. Do you understand?"
Zed burst into laughter at Jean's sincerity. "You little fool, I'm just teasing you. You don't have to be so serious."
