Atticus appeared at the top of the hill, eyes narrowed.
’Weird.’
During the brief moment he vanished from the training hall and appeared here, he had suddenly felt something... odd.
He couldn’t explain it. It was a feeling he hadn’t felt in a while, like a chill down his spine. Danger.
Atticus’s gaze flashed, and he focused on the training room he’d just left. The three apexes were leaving the room.
He scanned the room for any threats, focusing on the apexes again when he found nothing.
’Nothing changed.’
They were just as he had left them. While they had intense frowns on their faces, clearly angry at what just happened, it was a reaction Atticus had expected. After all, he couldn’t possibly expect them to be all smiles after they just became slaves.
Atticus scrutinized the three once more and cleared the image when he found nothing.
’What was that feeling?’
That was his major concern. Atticus had come too far to start ignoring his instincts, especially when it was this strong.
’They’ve signed a mana contract,’ he reminded himself. He had taken the necessary precautions to make sure they wouldn’t betray him or the world in the future.
But...
Atticus knew that the contract wasn’t absolute. The life weapons had the power to stop the time of the world regardless of how long. He would be damned if such a thing couldn’t find a way past a mana contract.
’But it doesn’t mean the life weapon is my enemy.’
He wasn’t even sure the three apexes were also his enemies. But Atticus couldn’t ignore his feeling.
’I’ll keep a close eye on them,’ he decided, and chose to let the matter go, for now.
’I’ll have to look for another place for them to stay.’ With his suspicions, Atticus would be damned if he allowed them be so close to his mother or even other family members.
’For now, Noctis is with her.’ At the very least, he could rest assured that Anastasia as getting the best protection she could possibly ask for.
Settling down on the peak of the hill, Atticus closed his eyes and took a deep breath.
’Now to more important matters.’
Eldoralth had merged with five more worlds. This meant five new societies, five new power systems. Five new races, basically.
Eldoralth had been a mixture of nineteen different worlds. And now, with this new merge, it was as though five had been added to that number.
The overall mana in the air had increased manifold, and so had the abilities.
’New mana signatures,’ Atticus determined. He had felt it the instant the merge happened.
The Eldorians were made up of all nineteen races Eldoralth had once been, but with the addition of these new five, they were no longer the best the world had to offer. No longer whole warriors.
There were five more races now, and for the Eldorians to be as complete as they were before, Atticus had to give them the other races’ mana signatures.
