Chapter 164
Hearing Connor’s question, Jerome felt uneased.
Regardless of divorce or remarriage, he was reluctant.
He felt nothing when Mikayla wanted a divorce a month ago.
He thought it was fine to just get divorced.
It would save him from a lot of trouble.
Why was he feeling differently now?
“Jerome?” Connor called out after hearing no response from him.
“It’s not that I’m reluctant to let her go.” Jerome frowned. “It’s just that we’ve been married for over a year now, and I’m already used to it. Grandma is also satisfied with her. There’s no need to escalate things.”
Connor understood Jerome perfectly.
He didn’t want a divorce.
“And have you ever thought about marrying someone else if you did get divorced?” Connor
asked.
I
Jerome retorted irritably, “Why would I want to trouble myself with that again?”
Luckily, even though his feelings for Mikayla were unclear, he didn’t have feelings for any
other woman.
Connor sighed lightly.
“Jerome, since you don’t want a divorce, you have to find a way to win Mikayla back.
Women are emotional beings. They can fall in love with you for one thing, and they can retract those feelings for another.”
“Retract her feelings?” Jerome was annoyed with Connor’s arrogant blabber.
Mikayla cared for him enough to remind Matilda that he didn’t like his food overly
seasoned.
When she fought with Louisa in the restroom, she mentioned that no other man could compare to him.
Jerome adjusted his collar and tie unconsciously, revealing a delicate tie clip.
This was given to me by Mikayla yesterday. If she didn’t have feelings anymore for me, why would she give me a gift?”
Connor looked at Jerome’s tie clip and felt puzzled.
“Why do I feel like this isn’t her taste?”
“You never received any gifts from her. How would you know what her taste is?”
Jerome glanced at Connor coldly.
“You always boast about being experienced in love, but have you ever received a gift from
a woman?”
“Jerome… Personal attacks aren’t okay.” Connor stuttered.
