Chapter 166
“Did Mr. Miller gave you a hard time last night?” Michael asked.
Mikayla felt embarrassed when she remembered how Jerome lifted her up last night.
“No, everything’s fine.”
“That’s good,” Michael replied, then fell silent.
Mikayla thought he was getting nervous about the preliminary audition, so she encouraged him with a few words of support.
However, Michael said seriously, “Miss, though I might not be able to help you right now, I’ll
support whatever decision you made.”
Knowing that Michael was concerned about her, it warmed her heart.
“Don’t worry, I can handle it. Just focus on your audition.”
After hanging up the phone, Mikayla arrived at the dojo.
She practiced some sparring and self–defense techniques that Michael taught her.
Now, Mikayla had gained some strength in her punches and was no longer as delicate as before.
Even her coach praised her progress.
Lately, she has been eating and sleeping well.
She could feel her physical condition improving noticeably.
Though her weight hadn’t changed much, she didn’t mind it as long as she felt good.
After finishing her training, Mikayla took a shower and changed her clothes.
As she was prepared to leave, she saw Jensen walking toward her.
He wasn’t wearing any sportswear, as if he came specifically for her.
“Are you here to train?” Mikayla intentionally asked.
“Not today. Let’s go for coffee.”
Mikayla smiled.
“There’s no need for coffee. Just say it here.”
Jensen pointed to the lounge area.
“How about we sit over there and talk?”
Mikayla nodded. “Sure.”
In the end, Jensen ordered them two cups of coffee.
“Ms. Davidson, the day before yesterday, you mentioned to Lousa that you saw similar earrings on a second–hand website,” Jensen ambiguously said. “Louisa might have misunderstood me, and she hasn’t been in touch with me these past few days.”
Mikayla looked at Jensen.
“Do you think she reacted that way because of what I said?”
“I don’t blame you for it. But I am curious. Based on your financial status, you shouldn’t be
shopping at second–hand stores, let alone remembering that there were similar earrings
there,” Jensen said.
“There are times where I’m reluctant to throw away certain jewelry or bags I dislike, so I
would sell them second–hand,” Mikayla explained. “There’s nothing strange about me
disposing of unwanted belongings, right?”
Jensen didn’t pursue this further.
Instead, he asked, “Ms. Davidson, are you against me and Louisa being together?”
Mikayla raised her eyebrows.
