Chapter 172
After about 800 sheeps, drowsiness finally overcame Mikayla and she eventually fell asleep.
It wasn’t until later at night that she felt a warmth engulfed her.
The air conditioner was cool so the warmth felt nice to her.
She scooted closer to the source of the warmth instinctively, only to find it suddenly
stiffening.
She didn’t think much of it.
All of a sudden, Mikayla felt something warm pressing against her nape, as if something. was gently sucking her.
She tried moving, but she was trapped.
Struggling wildly, she finally broke free and jolted awake..
She was in the middle of bed, and Jerome was reclining next to her.
His eyes fluttered open, as if he was startled by her noise.
His voice was hoarse as he asked, “What’s wrong?”
Stunned, she finally realized what felt off.
She shot a suspicious glance at Jerome and asked, “Why am I under your sheets?”
She vividly remembered tucking herself under her sheets before sleeping.
Jerome rumbled, “Maybe you snuck in here because you were cold.”
He closed his eyes.
Mikayla stared at him.
His eyebrows were drawn in a tight knot, looking visibly frustrated.
Did she really snuck under his sheets?
Well, the temperature felt colder than usual.
Deep in sleep, she was unconscious.
wasn’t entirely bizarre if she nestled next to him because he felt warm, given how cold
the room was.
Snapping back to her senses, she adjusted the air conditioner’s temperature and shimmled back into her sheets.
She added another blanket to make sure that she wouldn’t get any closer to Jerome, and slept at the edge of the bed.
A few minutes barely passed when Jerome suddenly flung his sheets open.
He got out of bed swiftly.
“What are you doing?” Mikayla was bewildered.
Perhaps irritated by her waking him up, Jerome didn’t respond.
Instead, he strode out of the bedroom with a somber expression.
Baffled by his horrible temper, Mikayla didn’t bother with him.
She nestled closer to her sheets and slept soundly.
The next day, Jerome was gone when Mikayla woke up.
She didn’t know whether he woke up early, or he never came back.
Nonetheless, she couldn’t be bothered.
She’d be overjoyed if he disappeared for the rest of the day.
She got out of bed and went into the bathroom.
Just as she was about to step into the shower, she found a red mark on her nape which looked similar to the one yesterday.
