Chapter 18 

Jerome went downstairs, but there was no sign of Mikayla. 

“Mr. Miller, Madam had left on her own in a cab,” the driver tentatively informed. 

Jerome pursed his lips and instructed the driver to return to Dragoncrest Villa. 

Seeing Mikayla’s shoes by the door, he went upstairs. 

Mikayla’s room door was tightly shut, with no sound from the inside. 

Jerome hesitated for a moment but ultimately refrained from knocking. 

The next day, after finishing his workout, Jerome walked to the table where Amy had already prepared breakfast. 

He then sat himself down at the table and glanced upstairs. “Wake her 

up for breakfast.” 

Amy responded dutifully, “Sir, Madam has already left.” 

Left? 

He had deliberately given Mikayla some time to cool down last night, intending to inquire about the situation in the morning. To his surprise, she had gone out early. 

“Where did she go?” 

Amy shook her head. “I don’t know. Madam didn’t say.” 

“Madam didn’t even have breakfast. It seems like there’s something important she needs to attend to,” Amy added.

As Amy made her way to the kitchen, Jerome called Mike. 

“Look into what happened at Kylie’s apartment last night.” 

Mikayla had acted unusually the previous night. Despite her reluctance to apologize, she had seemingly accepted it. 

Before going upstairs, everything seemed fine with Mikayla. How did it suddenly turn into a scene of intense animosity upon seeing Kylie?

Mikayla arrived at the hospital where Taylor was at. 

She rode the elevator to Taylor’s VIP room using the room number he shared during the phone call. 

It wasn’t just a ward. There was also a separate resting area. It was a multi–functional lounge with a large LCD television, water dispenser, and leather sofas. 

The level of luxury rivaled that of a hotel suite. 

As she knocked on the door, the caretaker had just finished taking Taylor’s blood pressure on the sofa, 

“Well, Mrs. Miller is quite prompt!” 

Seeing her, Taylor smiled with curiosity. “What made you think of visiting me?” 

Mikayla placed the lilies she had bought on the coffee table. “Your injury is partly my fault, and I feel guilty about it. That’s why I came to see how you are recovering.” 

Taylor chuckled, expressing his amusement. “You two are quite interesting. The husband injures someone and then sends the wife to pay a visit.” 

The caretaker brought water for Mikayla and then left the room. Mikayla took a seat on a sofa beside Taylor. 

“No one sent me. I came on my own accord.” 

Taylor raised an intrigued eyebrow, not entirely surprised. “Mrs. Miller, you came all this way. It’s probably not just about checking on me, is it?” 

It was easy to handle conversations with intelligent people. Mikayla didn’t beat around the bush. “Indeed, I do have something else to discuss with you. 

“Oh? Is it related to your interest in gaining insights into wealth–building? 

“Something like that.” Mikayla smiled, lifted her cup, and took a leisurely sip. you’ve asked me before about the bet between you and Jerome 

“Mr. Blue, 

about who would win.” 

At her words, a playful expression appeared on Taylor’s handsome face. 

Chapter 18 

Mikayla remarked, “I believe you will win because your luck has arrived,” 

Taylor looked at Mikayla. “Luck has arrived? You’re not implying yourself, are you?” 

“That’s correct,” Mikayla said with a smile. “I can help you secure the Ansoft Enterprise project.” 

Taylor chuckled in a somewhat wicked manner, neither confirming nor denying. “I wonder, Mrs. Miller, what conditions do you have in mind?” 

Like a true businessman, he wasted no time getting down to business when Mikayla opened the discussion. 

Mikayla stated, “I want to join Mocato Investments and become your partner. In addition to the Ansoft Enterprise project, I will invest one billion and guarantee at least two profitable projects annually.”
