Chapter 181
Mikayla left the dough for the mille crepe cake in the fridge to rest until tomorrow morning.
She went upstairs after she was done with improving the filling and making it less
sweet.
She was about to sleep after showering and completing her skincare routine when Jerome, who was busy in the study, suddenly strode in.
Not wanting to engage in a conversation with him, she drew her eyes shut quickly, feigning to be asleep.
The noise of running water echoed from the bathroom.
It didn’t take long for Jerome to go to bed.
Refreshing notes of soap aroma lingered in the air as he slipped under the sheets.
Mikayla stilled, trying her best to reduce her presence.
In the next instant, her blankets were suddenly flung to the side.
She could barely react when Jerome pressed himself on top of her.
“What are you doing?” she hissed, glaring at him.
His arms were plopped beside her, his gaze intensifying as he stared at her.
“Mikayla, didn’t you complain that I didn’t fulfill my duties as your husband? I’ll do
it now.”
“Jerome, what the heck is wrong with you?” Mikayla shoved him, but he didn’t budge an inch.
Seeing how unyielding and forceful he was, she suddenly recalled the self–defense. techniques Michael taught her.
She raised her knee and swung it toward Jerome’s inner thigh.
“Ow!” Her sudden attack caught him off guard.

He winced, his body began to curl slightly.
Mikayla seized the chance to jostle him, and he gave in easily.
Noticing the tight knot between his brows, his pale complexion, and the placement
of his hands, her triumph was eventually replaced by guilt.
It seemed like she had attacked somewhere she shouldn’t have.
With a clear conscience, she swore that she didn’t do that on purpose.
How would she know that she’d land that hasty kick?
“Are you alright?” she asked sheepishly.
Jerome’s eyes glinted with fury.
“Are you really a woman? You’re vicious!”
He didn’t really intend to have sex with her.
She could’ve just pleaded and he’d release her–why did she have to attack him instead?
The guilt simmering in Mikayla’s chest vanished instantly.
“And you’re an arrogant piece of shit! I’ll be even more ruthless if this happens. again!”
Mikayla thought she’d gone easy on him with just a single kick.
How dared he twist her words on purpose?
Struggling to endure his agony, Jerome scoffed.
“Mikayla, I hold you responsible if there’s anything wrong with me! Forget about filing a divorce–you’ll have to stick with me for the rest of your life with your desires untended.”
Mikayla was at a loss for words.
She wasn’t surprised if he really did that.
Tending to her desires wasn’t her priority.
