Chapter 200
Nolan raised his head, most likely hearing Mikayla’s words. But instead of looking at her, he glanced at Celeste.
Celeste’s eyes brightened slightly, and she smiled happily.
But he didn’t greet her. He only glanced at her before withdrawing his attention, passing them by, and walking forward with the doctors.
Her smile faded a lot as she saw that.
Mikayla was puzzled. “Why didn’t he greet you? Is he angry with you because you went to the bar last night?”
Celeste shook her head. “He had surgery last night and didn’t go home. He didn’t even know I was out.”
“Then why did he act like he didn’t know you?”
“He should be here for a visit and exchange. There are too many colleagues around him. If he greeted me, he’d have to introduce me to them. It’d be a waste of time.”
“Has he always been like this to you?”
Celeste smiled. “Not really. He has fulfilled his responsibilities and treated me with the utmost respect. Besides, I can always see his handsome face, so I have nothing to be dissatisfied with.”
Mikayla was speechless. Birds of the same feather did flock together. Both of them were hopeless romantics.
They walked around the garden for a while. Then, a nurse came over to ask Mikayla for a check–up.
When they returned to the ward, Connor came. He spotted Celeste and greeted her warmly, “Hello, Ms. Reign.”
“Hello, Mr. Barnes. Is your forehead okay?”
“I’m fine now. I’ve always been in good health. Last night was just an accident.”
Seeing they were getting along, Mikayla said, “Celeste, you chat with him for a

while. I’ll go for my check–up.”
Connor informed, “Mikayla, there was a problem at the company. Jay went there early in the morning to deal with it. He’ll come to take you home later.”
“Have you heard that, Kay? He really cares about you now,” Celeste teased.
Mikayla glared at her before going to the examination room with the nurse.
After completing a series of tests, she returned to the ward and ran into Mike, who was holding a folder.
“Mr. Ashford, why are you here?” she asked casually.
Surprisingly, Mike, who was usually neither humble nor arrogant to her, looked nervous when he heard her voice.
“Hello, Mrs. Miller. Mr. Miller is inside. I’ll wait for you two downstairs.”
After saying that, he bolted away.
