Chapter 209
Upon hearing her question, Jerome’s expression darkened.
“Do you not want to apply the medicine so Grandma would notice something’s
wrong?” Jerome replied with a question.
Mikayla didn’t know what to say.
She didn’t want to further harm her body. Besides, Jerome smelled like medicine, so
he had most likely already applied it on himself.
He probably had more experience than Amy in massaging as well.
With that in mind, Mikayla sat on her chair and pulled down the clothes on her
shoulder slightly. “You can apply it while I sit.
Even though Jerome appeared like he wasn’t interested in her, she didn’t know when
he’d suddenly lose control.
It was safer to sit than to lie down.
Jerome didn’t object and walked behind her. He rubbed his palms with the medicine before applying it to her shoulder.
The warmth of Makayla’s injury radiated a sweltering soreness, causing her brows to
knit together into a frown.
But, Jerome didn’t go easy on her. He started massaging her with more force.
Although it felt painful, the coolness of the medicine and the warmth of his palm created an intense feeling of relief.
After about half an hour of massaging, Mikayla was drenched in sweat.
However, Jerome was exerting so much force that he was probably sweating even
more.
Amy probably wouldn’t have been able to massage as well as Jerome did.
At that moment, Mikayla’s opinion of Jerome improved slightly.
After the massage, Jerome didn’t linger. He immediately left.
Mikayla didn’t expect that.
He was a businessman. Why didn’t he ask for anything in return?
At night, when Mikayla was deep in sleep, she felt some movement on the bed.
Apparently, Jerome had come to sleep beside her.

When Mikayla woke up the next day, Jerome was no longer by her side.
When she was heading downstairs for breakfast, she received a call from Betty. She had asked Mikayla to come to Ansoft.
“Betty, you aren’t even taking a break on Saturdays?” Mikayla joked with her. “You’re truly career–oriented.”
Ansoft’s sales had been improving steadily, and Betty was the person behind all the work.
