Chapter 223
Mikayla glanced in the direction Celeste was pointing at. Indeed, it was Jerome.
He looked absolutely stunning dressed in his casual shirt which accentuated his tall frame.
He looked like a movie star who had emerged right out from a movie scene as he stood next to Nolan, who appeared sophisticated.
“Nolan’s drop–dead gorgeous,” Celeste sighed.
Mikayla jostled her playfully. “You’re drooling.”
“Stop it. You’re not any better when you look at Jerome,” she retorted.
Mikayla rolled her eyes at her.
Their bickering attracted Jerome and Nolan’s attention.
They both spun around.
Celeste went up to Nolan, slipping her arm into his.
“Babe, do you know Mr. Miller?”
“We met a few times before,” Nolan replied airily.
He was renowned in the medical field, and many affluent people would take the initiative to be acquainted with him.
It wasn’t strange for him to know Jerome.
After all, he was a successful entrepreneur who often appeared in ceremonial events organized by the government as the hospital’s representative.
Celeste began introducing Mikayla. “Though you’ve met her before, I figured I should “obably introduce you to her properly. This is my friend, Mikayla, She’s Mr. Miller’s wife.”
Nolan nodded at her in response, and she returned it with a smile.
Indeed, he was like how Celeste mentioned–aloof and distant.
Mikayla had no idea how Celeste managed to endure him. Though Jerome was equally aloof, his natural sense of courtesy made him appear gentle to others.
Still, the indifference in his demeanor was palpable.
“Dr. Chance, it’s a luxury for you to have some free time. Why don’t you spend some quality time with your wife instead?” Jerome pulled Mikayla into his arms swiftly, and she didn’t protest.
Nolan nodded. “If you’ll excuse us.”
Celeste displayed no hint of demureness whatsoever. “Mr. Miller, why don’t you take a stroll with Mikayla to ease her digestion? She ate too much earlier, and she’s about to have an upset stomach.”
Mikayla was slightly embarrassed for being exposed in front of everyone.
She shot a glare at Celeste. “You’re one to talk!”
Celeste winked at her and grinned. “It doesn’t matter. Nolan’s going to workout with me later.”
Mikayla was rendered speechless. She knew what Celeste was implying.
She wasn’t as bold as she was, and her face went red at her comment.
She snorted, and began marching toward the narrow path ahead while Celeste burst into a fit of laughter.
Jerome trailed after her.
Celeste’s arm was still linked with Nolan’s as she asked, “Babe, how did you bump into Mr. Miller?”
“I saw him on his phone after I parked my car.”
“What did you guys talk about?”
“Just some small talk,” Nolan replied.
Sensing Celeste’s strong urge to probe their conversation, he continued, “He mentioned that my suit looks nice. He asked whether you’d bought it for me.”
“That was quite random.” Celeste was baffled. “I don’t really buy you any suits.”
Nolan shook his head. “I’m not sure either. I told him it’s from the last season, and I rarely wear suits. You
