Chapter 232
Mikayla smiled but said nothing.
“He deserves to get ignored! How could he leave his Injured wife alone and accompany someone else?”
Anne said as she applied medicine onto Mikayla’s wound.
Afterwards, she bandaged her palm with a gauze bandage.
“Be careful not to get it wet. Apply the medicine on time, or you’ll have ugly scars,” Anna said.
“Thank you, doctor,” Mikayla replied.
When Mikayla paid the bill, Jerome video–called her. She still declined it and even blocked his WhatsApp.
In the past, she would never think of blocking him. Even the thought of doing it was hard.
But now, she did it without hesitation.
She thought it would be difficult, but doing it only took a few seconds.
Mikayla left the clinic and took a cab back to Dragoncrest Villa.
She didn’t want Jerome to disturb Celeste, so she left Celeste a message on her way home. “Celeste, my shoulder hurts, and I didn’t bring any medicine. So I went back first. Enjoy your time with Dr. Chance.”
After sending the message, Mikayla wanted to turn her phone off when she saw Jerome’s number flashed
on her screen.
There was less traffic at night, so the journey was quicker compared to the daytime. After about an hour and a half, she arrived at Dragoncrest Villa.
Surprisingly, Amy was still awake. “Madam, didn’t you go on a company trip with Mr. Miller? Why are you back so soon? He just called me to ask about you.”
Mikayla was not in a mood to explain the details. “I was tired from having fun but I wasn’t used to sleeping elsewhere, so I came back first. I’m going to rest now. Don’t let anyone disturb me.”
Amy nodded.
Mikayla returned to her bedroom and threw the rabbit–shaped crystal night lamp into the trash can.
After locking the door, she quickly fell asleep as soon as she laid on the bed.
After a
a while, she vaguely heard someone trying to open the locked door, followed by Amy’s soft voice. Sir, Madam said she was tired and wanted to rest. Perhaps she locked the door to avoid being disturbed. The sheets and quilts in the guest room are clean. You can rest there.”
“Was she okay when she came back? Did you notice any injuries on her legs or elsewhere?” Jerome
asked in a low voice.
Amy replied, “I didn’t notice. Madam seemed tired and didn’t want to talk. She walked normally.”
Chapte 237
The voices outside the door soon stopped.
