Chapter 245
“Kay, what are you nervous about? I’m not that old. You don’t need to hold me.” Eduard smiled.
Mikayla rested her head on his shoulder and said coquettishly, “Just think that I can’t walk and need your help!”
He couldn’t help but ask, “Kay, are you concerned about something? I feel like you’ve changed a lot recently.”
She didn’t deny it. “Do you think this is a good or bad change?”
Eduard patted her shoulder distressedly. “I don’t need you to be well–behaved all the time. You can have any life you wish as long as you’re happy.”
Mikayla felt sore after hearing that. Her eyes turned red. He always doted on her and never blamed her for her faults.
“Why are you crying? Have you been wronged?” he asked.
She wiped her tears and shook her head, “No, I just feel sorry for you. In the past, I only had Jerome in my eyes. I never cared much about you.”
Eduard laughed. “You silly girl. I’m happy for you when you have someone you like.”
Mikayla was still about to speak when she heard a scream. Then, a motorcycle sped toward them.
Her heart tightened in fear. She grabbed Eduard and ran to the safe street beside them. The motorcycle sped by where they stood. When she was about to let out a sigh of relief, she noticed another motorcycle crashing in their direction.
“Grandpa, watch out!” Mikayla yelled as she instinctively grabbed a traffic cone from the roadside and flung it at the motorcyclist.
The motorcyclist got smacked in the head and immediately braked. The motorcycle skidded, and the tires screeched loudly against the ground.
The motorcyclist’s helmet had fallen off. Meanwhile, many people gathered around him. He didn’t stay
but got his helmet and rode away quickly.
“What’s wrong with those two people? Here is the pediatric zone! How could they race here?”
“That’s right! They’re so uncivilized. Thank goodness that they didn’t hit anyone!”
Passers–by commented in shock.
“Kay, are you okay?” Eduard approached Mikayla and asked worriedly.
But she didn’t react at all. She just stood on the spot with her eyes wide open.
*Kay, what’s wrong? Are you injured somewhere?” Eduard was so anxious that he nearly wanted to dial the emergency number..
“Grandpa, I’m fine.” Mikayla stopped him.
William, who had gone to buy something in front, dashed over. He stared at them in confusion as he didn’t know what had happened yet.
“William, please accompany Grandpa back to the hotel-”
Before she could finish her sentence, she changed her mind. “Forget it. I’d better send you both back to
the hotel first.”
