“I don’t have much feelings for Mikayla. I just feel bad for neglecting her in our marriage. If we aren’t getting divorced, I would try to be a better husband. But since she insists on divorcing, I’ll sign the papers, 

Jerome sald. 

“As for what you mentioned about trying to win her back in the future, I don’t think that will happen,” he added. 

Hearing this, Wanda put away her crane and sighed helplessly. Jerome was excellent in every aspect, but he was too arrogant. 

He had always had an easy life and never experienced any setbacks. He always thought he had everything in control. 

Even if he realized he had feelings for Mikayla, he wouldn’t admit it due to his pride. 

He might even attribute it to being the competitive and possessive nature of men. 

Plus, Mikayla has always been the one giving in one–sidedly. He didn’t understand how hard it was to be the one who gives.

“Fine, I won’t meddle in your affairs anymore,” Wanda said disdainfully. 

“Get out. I don’t want to see you.” She urged him to leave. 

Jerome had nothing to say. 

In the evening, Mikayla accompanied Wanda for a walk in the courtyard while chatting and laughing. 

The Miller Manor was situated on a large piece of land. Not only was the backyard garden magnificent 

the courtyard was too. 

The birthday banquet would be held here. Many maids were busy with some finishing touches. 

“Mom.” 

As they were inspecting the set up, a voice sounded from not far away. 

Mikayla turned to see that it was Zachary who had come over. 

“Dad.” Mikayla put away her smile and greeted him respectfully. 

Perhaps he knew Wanda doted on Mikayla, he didn’t behave as aggressively as he did at the Dragoncrest Villa yesterday. He even nodded at her. 

Wanda wasn’t particularly excited about Zachary’s arrival. “You’re here. Jerome is having a video conference in the house. You should go and check on him, and let him rest. You hardly return all year

Zachary didn’t refute Wanda’s words. He nodded and walked into the house. 

“Kay, I heard that he went to your place last night. Did he try to find faults with you?” Wanda asked. 

Mikayla smiled. “It wasn’t exactly finding faults. It was my fault after all.” 

“Don’t mind him. The Miller Group has grown stronger and larger under his leadership. He created many business opportunities, but it has also led to his arrogant and self–centered attitude,” Wanda said, 

She continued, “Because of this, he had many quarrels and fights with Camilles. In the end, she left the country with Riley not long after she was born.” 

This was the first time Mikayla had heard Wanda mention the conflict between Jerome’s parents.
