Chapter 262
Soon, the ropes around her limbs were loosen. Her body fell into a warm embrace.
“Are you okay?”
She lifted her head in confusion upon hearing the familiar voice.
She saw Jerome’s face. His brow was deeply frowned, and his eyes were filled with concern.
“Jerome?” Mikayla asked in uncertainty.
Jerome looked at her.
Her eyes were blank, and her hair was disheveled. There were two finger marks on her flushed cheeks.
Her lips were rosy, her body was warm, and her voice was extremely soft.
Her appearance clearly indicated that she had suffered a lot and ingested something she shouldn’t have.
A bloodthirsty urge surged within Jerome. He wished he could execute Johnny for laying hands on Mikayla
“Mr. Miller, Johnny escaped!” Mike reported.
Jerome coldly ordered, “Chase after him. We must catch him no matter what!”
Mikayla seemed to be frightened. She lowered her head and hid in his arms.
“Mr. Miller, I’ll take care of the rest here. You should take Mrs. Miller to the hospital first,” Mike said.
Jerome didn’t hesitate. He carried Mikayla into the car.
They quickly arrived at the nearest hospital.
Other than the slap marks on her face and the marks on her wrists, there were no other physical injuries.
However, judging from her mental state, she had likely ingested some hallucinogenic drug.
“It’s impossible for her to cooperate with a gastric lavage now. She would suffer more if she did,” the doctor said. “Patients exposed to this drug generally don’t have any complications. It’s not compulsory to receive treatment. She’s relatively calm now. You can take her home and observe her condition.”
Since the hospital was too far from the Dragoncrest Villa, Jerome brought Mikayla to a hotel next to the hospital.
This is in case of any discomfort, they would be closer to the hospital.
After getting a room, Jerome placed Mikayla on the bed.
While he was about to get a towel to wipe her face, Mikayla hugged him and choked. “Jerome, don’t leave.
The doctor had told him that hallucinogens could affect the nervous system and caused hallucinations.
So, Mikayla was probably experiencing some kind of hallucination.
Seeing that she refused to let him an, Jerome simply sat on the bed with her.
Mikayla Immediately snuggled into his arms, pressing her warm cheeks against his skin to cont herself.
down
“Jerome. It’s almost been a year. You finally came to see me. Did you find out that I’m innocent? Mikayla murmured softly. “Everyone here treats me so badly I don’t want to stay here anymore Please take me
