Jerome was a bastard. He knew that she wasn’t sober, yet he deliberately recorded this to shut her up, 

“Mikayla, I took you to the hospital last night. I wanted to let you rest, but you kept holding onto me and wouldn’t let go. You wanted my love so desperately.” He seemed to have thought of something and added, “I’ve said it before. I’m a man, not a saint.” 

Mikayla knew that the drug Johnny forced on her had a strong hallucinogenic effect. 

She had heard from Celeste that drugs like these would cause hallucinations. If there were some sort of 

obsessions in the mind, the situation would be even more serious. 

Though she didn’t remember being sent to the hospital last night, she felt like she had a dream. 

She dreamt that she was still in the psychiatric hospital, waiting for Jerome to find out the truth about the 

arson. 

Jerome finally found out the truth and went to see her. He even hugged her and said he would like her. 

She was so excited that she abandoned any shyness and passionately kissed Jerome. She even 

expressed her desire for a closer relationship with him.. 

In her past life, Mikayla had a deep obsession with Jerome. 

So, everything that happened last night was her desire and long–awaited dream in her past life. 

If it were just an ordinary aphrodisiac, she might only have physical desires. She would have resisted it and stopped Jerome. 

But unfortunately, she was drugged with a hallucinogen. 

Her obsession was magnified to the point that she instinctively wanted to get close to Jerome physically 

and mentally. 

She slept with him. So what? 

Her world wouldn’t crumble just because of this. 

It was just unfortunate that she encountered Johnny which led to this disaster. 

Although Jerome took advantage of her, if she had fallen into Johnny’s hands, she couldn’t imagine the

Even if her feelings for Jerome weren’t as intense anymore, compared to Johnny and his man, she would prefer to sleep with Jerome.

Mikayla stopped dwelling on it and asked confusedly. “Shouldn’t Johnny be found guilty with a charge?” Why hasn’t he been brought in for an investigation?” 

Jerome was somewhat surprised. He thought Mikayla would continue to dwell on last night’s events, accuse him, and force him for an explanation 

But she just glossed it over just like that? 

“Is it hard to explain?” Mikayla was puzzled 

Jerome suppressed his faint sense of disappointment and said, “Someone from the orphanage colluded with Johnny and secretly prevented the police from gathering evidence. He took advantage of that loophole. 

“Mike had sent him to the police station last night. He just updated that Johnny has confessed that it was him who did it out of spite.” 

“How did you know I was kidnapped by Johnny?” Mikayla asked another qu 

question. 

Jerome explained that he had heard from Wanda that she had returned to the Davidson family, so he wanted to call her to ask about the situation. 

But neither Mikayla nor the driver answered their phone. Then he found out from Eduard that she hadn’t returned yet.
