Chapter 27
Mikayla smiled. “I just signed up for a sparring class.”
Michael looked delighted. “What a coincidence! I’m the sparring trainer!”
It was indeed a coincidence.
She initially thought it would be to discuss a collaboration the next time they met. She didn’t expect to run into him again so soon.
“I’m looking forward to our lessons,” Mikayla said with a smile. “Well, you must be busy. I’ll get going first.”
“Miss!” Michael called after her.
“Yes?” Mikayla asked.
Michael said with slight embarrassment, “I still don’t know how to thank you for what you did. Why don’t I take you out for coffee?”
Mikayla shook her head, smiling. “There’s always next time! I don’t want to disturb you while you’re working.”
“Don’t worry about that! I was just about to get off work!” Michael said hurriedly.
He gave off very youthful vibes. His nervousness made him seem like a young man.
All of a sudden, Mikayla understood cougars. Younger men were truly endearing like this.
Mikayla broke into a grin. “In that case, your wish is my command.”
“Great! Wait for me while I change. I’ll be right back!”
Michael was indeed fast. He was out just as Mikayla reversed her car out of the parking
lot.
“Come in!” Mikayla shouted.
Michael readily got into the car without any hint of shyness.
“My driving skills are pretty average. You’d better brace yourself,” Mikayla joked.
“No worries, I trust you.”
His eyes were bright and clear, and his expression was earnest. Suddenly, Mikayla felt

responsible for him.
She chuckled. “Where to?”
Michael replied, “Anywhere you want. It’s my treat.”
After a moment’s thought, Mikayla said, “Let’s go to a milkshake bar.”
She used to love milkshakes when she was in university, so she had wanted to share her
favorite with Jerome.
That day, she had queued for over an hour to buy the most
ar milkshake in her
university town. But when she gave it to Jerome, he immediately said he didn’t drink garbage.
“Jerome, this store uses the best ingredients. There are no unhealthy additives, and it tastes amazing. Just try it!”
At the time, probably because he was in a hurry to catch the elevator, he’d accepted the
cup.
But when she came out of the bathroom and walked past the trash can outside the elevator, she noticed a milkshake cup in it.
She had been upset for a while. Then, she thought that since Jerome didn’t like it, she shouldn’t either.
Thus, since then, she never drank another milkshake.
She was beginning to doubt whether her past self had a brain.
Jerome had clearly not appreciated her effort to queue for an hour, so why did she blame herself instead?
“Miss, you don’t need to try to save my money. I have a few part–time jobs. I can afford to take you to a café or even a bar,” Michael quickly explained.
Mikayla laughed softly. “I’m not looking down on you. I just really want some
milkshakes.”
Upon hearing this, Michael scratched the back of his head in embarrassment. “I know a really good milkshake bar up ahead.”
Following Michael’s directions, Mikayla drove them there.
The milkshake bar seemed to be doing well. It was packed with young people.
Chapter 27
“Miss, what do you feel like having?” Michael asked.
“You can just call me Ms. Davidson,” Mikayla said.
Although she was only 23 years old, her experiences from her past life made her feel like she was mentally in her thirties.
Hearing him call her “miss” made her feel a bit guilty.
“No, I feel like that makes you seem older than you really are,” Michael said.
