Chapter 272
You’ve finally begun to care for your wife,” Wanda quipped. Glowering at Jerome, she continued, “What have you been doing in the past?”
Grandma-
“Grandma, you’re right. I wasn’t doing my best back then.” Jerome admitted his mistake before Mikayla could even finish speaking.
“It’s not your fault. I was imposing on you,” Mikayla said. “Grandma, Uncle Stephen and Aunt Matilda should be arriving soon. I’ll go and take a look.”
The last thing she wanted was to be in his presence. He reminded her of Kylie, and she didn’t want to be
furious at him because of her.
Knowing that was probably an excuse, Wanda nodded. “Alright.”
She slapped Jerome’s hand away once Mikayla left. “Go away! You’re so clumsy. Kay did a way better job

me out.”
“You should go greet your relatives. I want to spend some time on my own,” she said.
Jerome’s expression was indiscernible as he sat down beside her. “Ignore what Dad said. He basically
dislikes everyone, so he’s not targeting you.”
Mikayla snickered. “I don’t think so. He seems to be quite pleased with Kylie.”
“Mr. White used to work as our butler, so Dad trusts him. That’s why he cares about Kylie as well.”
She was surprised that he actually bothered to explain. “It’s none of my concern. It doesn’t matter whether he likes me or not. From tomorrow onward, I’m no longer part of his family.”
Jerome felt like he had been stabbed. Well aware that she was annoyed, he averted the topic promptly.
“Didn’t you want to investigate the two bikers who.almost collided with you guys in Lakeville? I told Mike
