Chapter 37
“It’s fine.”
Mikayla shook her head.
“I think it would be better to approach her with a friendly attitude.”
“Ms. Davidson, you are smarter than I imagined.”
Taylor raised his head and flashed her a proud yet teasing smile.
Mikayla took it as a compliment.
“Thank you for the praise, Mr. Blue.”
Taylor didn’t dwell on it further. He returned the proposal to Mikayla.
He said, “I’ll be waiting for your good news.”
The next day, Mikayla got up early.
After putting on some makeup, she headed to Johnny’s house.
The Lanes lived in a high–end neighborhood in the city. They had a small courtyard and flower beds on the first floor.
When Mikayla arrived, Betty was wheeling her mother to bask in the sun outside.
Mikayla gracefully approached, introduced herself, and presented the gifts she brought.
Without rushing into talks of the business, Mikayla spent some time chatting with Betty’s mother and joined them for lunch. Only after the meal did she bring up the main
topic.
“Mrs. Lane, I apologize for troubling you with this matter. I know many companies are interested in investing in Ansoft. But our venture is undoubtedly the best choice.”
Mikayla handed the proposal to Betty.
“Please take a look at the investment amount and the percentage of shares. I hope you’ll
see our sincerity.”
Betty knew the market well. She carefully reviewed the documents and seemed satisfied.

“I will discuss this matter with Mr. Lane and the other shareholders later. You’ll hear
from me in the next couple of days.”
Betty didn’t directly reject her proposal. It was a positive start.
Mikayla expressed her gratitude to Betty before leaving.
“You’re welcome! Since you’re Celeste’s friend, I am more than happy to help with this
favor!”
Betty was sharp and capable. She had a straightforward personality.
Aside from business, Mikayla liked people with such character.
“Well, when Celeste returns, I’ll visit you with her!”
“Sure!”
After leaving Johnny’s house, Mikayla called Taylor.
