Chapter 66
The martial arts dojo was filled with people with great figures. It took the worries off Mikayla’s mind for a while as she basked in the marvelous sight. On the surface, she maintained a calm demeanor like a proper lady.
Many people glanced at Mikayla, and she felt somewhat unaccustomed to the attention. In the past, she was confident and bold. Unfortunately, being ignored by Jerome did a number to her self–esteem.
As she was always troubled by Jerome’s reaction to her, her thoughts became filled with insecurities, which worsened her temper.
“Mikayla, you’re here!” Michael said as he walked toward her.
He greeted her politely and warmly.
“I’m here to practice since I have some free time. You go on. People are waiting for you over there!” Mikayla said.
Michael seemed to be very popular at the dojo. He offered private coaching sessions, and many girls were interested in attending his classes. Although Ansoft might not be able to appoint Michael as their brand ambassador, he could still become a popular singer with
his formidable skills.
“Okay, I just came to say hello. You go ahead and practice. Feel free to come to me if you have any difficulties,” Michael said.
Mikayla nodded at his words.
After changing her clothes, Mikayla joined several students for warm–un exercises under Coach Jim’s guidance. Following that was endurance training and some basic exercises. Mikayla could initially keep up with the group, but later on, she felt like giving up as the practice was too exhausting and monotonous.
“Come on, continue squatting!” Jim said as he blew the whistle sternly.
Unable to keep up, Mikayla leaned against the wall.
“Mikayla, let me help you, Michael said.
“I’ll teach you how to do this exercise in a less tiring way.”
Michael led Mikayla to a training area with hanging sandbags.
Wear this and hit the sandbag freely.”
Michael handed Mikayla a pair of gloves.
Mikayla asked, “Don’t I need to learn the basic kickboxing movements first?”
Micheei confidently replied, “There’s no need for you to do so. It’s more important for you to find your passion in what you’re doing first.”
Mikayla thought that Michael sounded like a professional coach. What he said resonated with Mikayla a lot.
Mikayla fiercely hit the sandbag as Michael instructed. She even let out a yell and prepared for the sandbag to swing back and forth.
However, the sandbag didn’t budge at all. Her gloved knuckles felt a twinge of pain.
Michael chuckled softly.
