Chapter 81
“Our company is not like those small businesses without connections. Why should we spend money to hire other people?” Matilda said.
Then, she looked at Jerome and said, “Jerome, let me be frank with you. I’d like to ask for
your help.
“Stephen wants to work with the Fanell Group. However, the Fanell Group is unwilling to
cooperate. So, I was wondering if you could help connect us?”
*Jerome is very busy and has no time to deal with the matters of the Davidson family. Aunt Matilda, don’t trouble him,” Mikayla coldly interjected.
“Mikayla, what are you saying? Jerome is our son–in–law. It’s only normal for him to help us
out,” Matilda said.
Jerome glanced at Mikayla and calmly said, “You can send me the relevant information. I’ll have someone look into it and get back to you.
“Thank you so much, Jerome! I knew you would help us out!” Matilda said while she happily served Jerome another bowl of soup.
After finishing the meal, Matilda left Jerome the information and departed with
satisfaction.
Mikayla looked at Jerome discontentedly and said, “Didn’t I tell you not to agree to
anything she says?”
“Why don’t you want the Davidson family to have anything to do with me?” Jerome
questioned.
Mikayla decided to be straightforward with him. She said, “Because sooner or later, we will
get a divorce. I want the Davidson family to adapt to the days when no one will be taking
special care of them.”
Jerome’s expression darkened as he said, “Why do you see me as such a heartless person?
Mikayla scoffed in secret. Jerome had never taken care of the Davidson family after she
entered the psychiatric hospital in her previous life.
Moreover, there were people who spoke ill of the Davidson family and caused the Minito
Group to teeter on the edge of collapse.
At that moment, Mikayla received a call from Eduard.
“I think she came to you because she heard about my discussion with Stephen about hiring someone to help him out. She didn’t do anything to embarrass you in front of Jerome,
right?” Eduard said.
“It’s okay. Jerome has seen me in lots of embarrassing situations. It wasn’t that bad,” Mikayla comforted Eduard.
“What do you mean? You’re not allowed to talk about yourself like that!” Eduard exclaimed.
I was just kidding. Grandpa, you should rest early. I’ll hang up now!” Mikayla said.
