Backup Girl No More: Adios to my V-card and My First Love (Brooklyn) novel Chapter 117

Chapter 27

At that moment, Viola made a grand entrance, stepping out of the car in a breathtaking wedding gown. The crowd erupted into cheers and applause

Wow! The bride is absolutely stunning! Shouldn’t the groom carry her in after this?”

Haha, where’s Ken? Someone go get the lucky man!”

Viola soaked up the admiration, her confidence swelling with every compliment. Her radiant smile and graceful demeanor captured everyone’s attention

Amid the lively chatter, Ken finally emerged from the house, walking at a measured pace

Viola turned to him, her voice laced with playful charm. Ken, they’re saying it’s tradition for the groom to carry the bride in after she gets out of the car. Would you give me a piggyback ride

She was certain he wouldn’t dare cause a scene in front of so many influential guests

But Ken, dressed casually in stark contrast to the formal event, looked utterly detached. His face

betrayed no emotion as he stared at Viola’s outstretched hand

The crowd began to murmur uneasily

Something feels off. Isn’t this supposed to be a joyful occasion?”

Why doesn’t the groom look happy?”

Viola, sensing the tension, tried to maintain her composure. Ken, today is our wedding day”

But Ken cut her off with a cold, flat voice. Who said I’m marrying you?”

The words hit like a thunderclap. Viola’s smile faltered, her confidence crumbling in an instant

Ken, what are you talking about?she asked, her voice trembling

Uncle Johnson, now visibly alarmed, hurried over to diffuse the situation, but Ken wasn’t finished

He pulled out a document and held it up for everyone to see. This is the annulled prenuptial

agreement. It’s been revoked. I’m not marrying Viola.”

The crowd gasped, whispers spreading like wildfire

Did he just call off the wedding?”

What’s going on here?”

Viola’s face contorted with fury as she clenched her fists. Ken, I don’t think I heard you right. Say that again.”

Ken handed her the document without hesitation

I told you before, ViolaI’m not marrying you. I don’t care if the entire world knows about this. I’m done playing along.”

The guests stared in stunned silence, unable to believe what they were witnessing

Uncle Johnson stormed over, his face flushed with anger. Ken! Do you realize what you’re doing

Today is an important day for our family!”

With a swift motion, he slapped Ken twice across the face

This isn’t a joke! Pull yourself together and apologize!”

But Ken stood his ground, his expression resolute. I’m not joking, Dad. Viola and I are not married

and we never will be. This charade ends here.”

The air grew heavy with tension as Ms. Brown, Viola’s mother, finally spoke up, her voice dripping

with contempt

Ken Johnson, do you think you can just walk away from this? What about the Brown family’s reputation? You’ve humiliated my daughter and dragged our family name through the mud!”

Ken’s eyes darkened, his voice cutting like a blade. Watch your mouth, Ms. Brown. I dare you to say that again.”
