Be Your Lover Forever (Alicia) novel Chapter 1702

"I see. You can leave now!”

With a wave, Trevor gestured for the maid to leave. Looking at Victoria who was deeply asleep, his eyes were full of anger. Didn't he send someone to protect her? Why was she so scared?

He touched her damp hair on the corner of her forehead and dipped a little water to moisten her dry lips. Seeing that she was fast asleep, Trevor did not wake her but went out with his mobile phone.

In the study, when the phone call connected, he couldn't help but lose his temper. "What are you doing? You can't even handle such a small thing?"

This time, she was so scared that she fell sick. What of the next time? She might have died before they did something.

Knocking on his head, Trevor was so irritated that he thought, 'Was it better for him to not let her leave the house?"

However, they had been investigating for so long without any results. They wanted to solve it urgently. But the current situation was unknown, so they did not have the confidence to solve it. They hadn't found the other half of the formula that had disappeared. If they couldn't eradicate it all at once, there would be no end to this trouble. No matter how urgent they were, they couldn't alert their enemies. Otherwise, their efforts would be wasted!

The issue could not be solved any time soon and it would not be a long-term solution for her to hide. Before things could be resolved, Victoria would be worried every day and would be either living in fear or staying in prison. She would definitely not be happy. He did not want her to be like this!

"I'm sorry, Mr. Trevor. Miss Victoria had been going to many places all day. We were stopped by a few red lights, and we were afraid that Young Mistress would discover something amiss so we didn't dare to follow too closely. When the Young Mistress was being pestered by the fool at the entrance of the charity house, we planned to help her but someone else in the vicinity stepped in, so we didn't go..."

"All right! All right!"

The more he listened, the more irritated he became. Trevor also knew that he was nitpicking, but he didn't know why when he saw her sick and haggard look, he began to feel uneasy from the bottom of his heart. He couldn't control his emotions.

What's going on?

Was he too tired? Why did it feel like something was going to happen?

After adjusting his breathing and emotions, Trevor continued,

"You'll still do the same in the future, but her safety is first! If it's just a small matter, you don’t have to show up. If it's a confrontation, you don't have to hesitate!"

"Yes, Mr. Trevor!"

In the study, after hanging up the phone, Trevor stood for a long time before taking out a cigarette and lit it. After smoking, he opened the window to dissipate the smoke, and then went back to his room.

Beside the bed, he sat down and held Victoria's hand while using another hand to rub her cheeks. The cold and hard lines on his handsome face gradually softened.

"Coward! Don't you usually have a lot of courage? It's good to show half of the courage you have against me! If I were not by your side, what would you do?"

All it took was a wandering fool to catch her and scared her so much that she fell sick. She was really just a woman!

After hearing more details from the servants, Trevor had a general understanding in his mind. Because of Victoria's sudden illness, he only cared about key matters. Everyone, including himself, focused only on those things. From beginning to end, he was distracted by her illness and ignored other things that happened, such as Victoria going to the hospital beside the welfare home!

In a daze, the images of the retarded child drooling and a deformed man with ragged clothes and dishevelled hair intertwined in Victoria's mind. Alongside the images were all kinds of terrifying sounds.

"Mom, hug, hug..."

"Heh heh."

"Why did you give birth to me? Why didn't you want me? Give me back my hands and my feet!"

"I'm not a fool. Don't hit me."

"Get out! Lock him up! You're a fool! No one wants you!"
