......
Wyatt's hand that was holding the fruits paused mid-air. At that moment, Waverly was fuming with anger. But with just one look, she seemed to understand his thoughts. So in the next second, she reached out and snatched the fruits in his hand.
In a huffy tone, she asked, "Have you eaten yet?"
He could sense her emotions from her tone and instinctively shook his head. He once again showed a stupefied expression. Ultimately, he just stood there, dazed as ever.
Waverly rolled her eyes and said weakly, "Come on up!"
After taking a look at his watch, Wyatt was about to decline when Waverly spoke first, "I'll just cook some pasta for you. It won't take long."
She knew that he needed to be back by eight o'clock.
Then, without further ado, Waverly grabbed his wrist and dragged him into the building. At the corridor, Wyatt took the fruits back and the two of them went upstairs together.
In the kitchen, Waverly prepared some meat and vegetables. She took out a jar of sauce and made him a simple one-pot pasta. She also made a small salad on the side.
Wyatt never thought he'd get the chance to eat a home-cooked meal made by her. Looking at the simple yet thoughtful meal on the table, Wyatt felt a warm feeling surrounding his heart. He had been eating outside food for days. Right now, he was touched beyond words.
"Aren't you going to eat?"
"I'll eat this!"
During their conversation, Waverly had already brought a bowl of fruits over. At the dinner table, he ate the pasta she prepared, while she ate the fruits he brought over. It was a very heartwarming scene.
As he chewed on his dinner, Wyatt felt like it was the most delicious meal he had ever tasted in his life. He licked the entire plate clean.
After dinner, Waverly pushed the bowl of fruits over to him. Then, she got up and washed the dishes. In the past, even in Casterwich City, there were servants at home. She rarely cooked, but in the past few months when she left, she had learned to be self-sufficient. As she learned to pass time, she also gained the habit of being productive.
When she finished doing the dishes, she felt something warm come up behind her. The next second, she fell into his embrace.
"Thank you."
She wanted to break free subconsciously, but Wyatt held her tighter. "Don't move! Let me hold you for a bit, okay? Just be quiet for a short while."
Wyatt's heart ached as he gently closed his eyes. It was as though she had to be very still for him to relax.
Waverly's heart trembled slightly as she pursed her lips. Her body stiffened slightly.
"Waverly, let's forget everything else and focus on you and me. Can you give me one more chance? What do I have to do to make that happen?"
She had to still have him in her heart. He knew that he had done her wrong. He was remorseful.
Compared to Wyatt's emotional outburst, Waverly had already gotten over her excitement. She slowly turned around and twitched her lips a few times, but she was calm, which was rare for her.
"Even if I give you another chance, are you sure you really want it and won't regret it?"
"I'm sure! I'm absolutely sure..."
