All of a sudden, she was reminded of the time when she came after him to Korea. She was told to be given a chance, but in fact, he cold-bloodedly threw her to another man.

Carolien did not agree to it, nor did she reject his begging.

"Carolien, this issue is seriously important. Nothing is allowed to go wrong. It's all for you!"

With the corners of her lips curved into a mocking smile, Carolien spoke up, "For me? Haha, why don't you call me "Gracie" again'?"

All of a sudden, his tense nerves seemed to have been pierced by a needle. Without realizing it, Elijah's hands retracted with his eyes widened in horror. A hint of fear flashed across his eyes.

Did she know anything?

"Don't you like "Gracie"? Why are you putting so much effort into Kim Mi-chi? I came all the way to find you. Why did you let go of my hand in front of the nightclub? Why did you distance yourself from me and cut off all ties instead of declaring that I was your woman or companion? You planned it a long time ago, didn't you? You did it on purpose! You were going to push me to that man from the beginning, weren't you? Is he interested in me or are you using me as an exchange for Kim Mi-chi?"

Elijah shook his head in response to Carolien's threatening words. "No! No!"

He had indeed thought of the plan, but she wasn't the target. She had happened to barge in as a coincidence.
