The next morning.
The Sea Salt Lizard moved across the calm water’s surface.
Jiang Xiu was apparently not very familiar with the location of the Research and Protection Center for the Shuilu Yana species, and he had to use navigation to reach his destination throughout the journey.
At the gate adorned with a statue of Shuilu Yana, Dr. Jiang and his assistant had been waiting for quite some time.
When Dr. Jiang saw the shorter figure among the two approaching people, his eyes lit up, and he hurriedly greeted them with enthusiasm,
"Qiao Sang, I’ve finally met you!"
"Dr. Jiang?" Looking at the uncle in the white lab coat in front of her, Qiao Sang called out with some hesitation.
There was no helping it; the uncle was accompanied by a somewhat younger man.
After all, this was a world where you couldn’t easily discern someone’s age or identity just by looking at their face.
At this moment, a living example was standing right beside her.
"It’s me," Dr. Jiang said with a smile.
Jiang Xiu took a deep breath, suppressing his excitement, and smiled as he reached out his hand, "Dr. Jiang, I am Jiang Xiu."
Although he was a professor, his status was still several notches below that of Dr. Jiang. If it weren’t for his special assignment to attend to Qiao Sang and take charge of the nutritional meal for the Bingke Xilu, he wouldn’t have been able to make contact with Dr. Jiang at all.
Heaven knows he almost hung up the phone yesterday, mistaking Dr. Jiang’s call for a scam.
"Hello!" Dr. Jiang shook his hand and then turned to Qiao Sang, "Let’s walk and talk."
The four of them entered the Research and Protection Center for the Shuilu Yana together, arriving at an extremely aesthetically pleasing large-scale water scenery garden.
"This is where the Shuilu Yanas usually play," Dr. Jiang explained.
Qiao Sang looked over to see more than a dozen Shuilu Yanas playing about in the pond and artificial waterfall.
Jiang Xiu had a thrilled expression as though he were in heaven...
At that moment, Qiao Sang suddenly remembered something and made a hand seal to summon Lubao.
"Bingke..." As soon as Lubao appeared, it saw its own kind that it had never encountered before and its expression froze.
"Lulu!"
One of the playing Shuilu Yanas just happened to look up at that moment, and it let out an excited cry.
All the playing Shuilu Yanas instantly turned in unison to look at Lubao, and several more heads emerged from the pond.
Then they all happily ran over and surrounded Lubao.
"Bingke..."
Lubao looked bewildered, gazing at its Beast Tamer for help.
"Go on and play with them," Qiao Sang said with a smile.
Actually, by age, Lubao was not even a year old, an age when it should be playing.
"Bingke..."
Hearing its Beast Tamer’s words, Lubao hesitated for a moment, then looked down at the little ones surrounding it, its gaze gradually softening, and its tail began to wagging gently as it walked towards the edge of the pond.
"Lulu!"
"Lulu!"
A group of Shuilu Yanas followed excitedly.
Seeing the friendly interactions between the Bingke Xilu and the Shuilu Yanas, Dr. Jiang remarked nostalgically,
"Your Bingke Xilu is really good-natured. Several Bingke Xilu from our research center don’t really like to play with the Shuilu Yanas."
Good-natured... you probably haven’t seen it when it was still a Shuilu Yana... Qiao Sang complained internally but replied,
