Chapter 49: Chapter 46: Creating Both Body and Mind
Qiao Sang ran two streets without stopping, holding the Fire-Toothed Dog in her arms.
The Fire-Toothed Dog looked up at its Beast Tamer in confusion.
“Let’s change the location for training,” panted Qiao Sang.
…
An open Pet Beast Training Ground five kilometers away.
Qiao Sang opened the panel.
[Name: Fire-Toothed Dog]
[Attribute: Fire]
[Level: Beginner (152/1000) +]
[Skills: Bite Hold (Beginner 74/100) +, Fierce Collision (Proficient 334/500) +, Flame Tooth (Junior 539/2000) +, Spark (Junior 659/2000) +, Shadow Clone (Beginner 42/100) +, Flame Vortex (Beginner 1/100) +]
[Points 109]
The Fire-Toothed Dog’s panel had changed significantly compared to a few days before.
Flame Tooth and Spark had both been trained to the Junior level.
To think that even a low-level skill like Spark would take half a year to train from Proficient to Junior, yet the Fire-Toothed Dog had only taken about two weeks to reach that stage.
Not to mention Flame Tooth.
As a mid-level skill, increasing its proficiency wasn’t something that could be done overnight.
Normally, it would take at least a year for a mid-level skill to go from Proficient to Junior, but the Fire-Toothed Dog had managed to achieve what others would in about a year in less than half a month.
Qiao Sang’s gaze didn’t linger on other data because she checked for updates every night before bed.
She was already aware of the progress in proficiency for Spark and Flame Tooth.
[Flame Vortex (Beginner 1/100) +]
Qiao Sang immediately saw the newly appeared data; it hadn’t been there last night.
Indeed, a new skill had been learned!
Qiao Sang was somewhat excited; the Fire-Toothed Dog was fundamentally different from other Pet Beasts.
Other Pet Beasts who had just learned a new skill might not master it straight away and might not be able to use it every time.
But once the Fire-Toothed Dog learned and used a skill once, it would definitely be able to release it accurately the next time.
Flame Tooth and Shadow Clone were like that.
It seems her idea of eating those super crazy spicy grilled wings was right!
Qiao Sang affirmed to herself, then exited the Beast Taming Codex.
“Fire-Toothed Dog, release the Flame Vortex five times,” said Qiao Sang.
“Yah?”
The Fire-Toothed Dog tilted its head.
“The one you learned from eating the grilled wings,” Qiao Sang clarified.
Understanding dawned on the Fire-Toothed Dog, and it recalled the surging feeling it had experienced.
With a yawn, a scorching whirl of flame appeared in the empty grounds.
Soon, the Flame Vortex was released five times.
“Yah!”
The Fire-Toothed Dog wagged its tail, its eyes brightly focused on its Beast Tamer.
“Great job,” praised Qiao Sang and pretended not to understand the Fire-Toothed Dog’s meaning. “Tired, right? Let’s go home.”
Her experiment with skill development for the day had been very successful, and the Flame Vortex had a 100% release rate, just as she had expected.
Now she had to hurry home to think about ways to make money.
Qiao Sang turned around, about to take a step, but her right foot sank down.
Looking down, she noticed the Fire-Toothed Dog biting her trouser leg.
“Ya Ya!”
“Ya Ya!”
Seeing that its Beast Tamer had stopped, the Fire-Toothed Dog quickly let go and started gesturing with its paws.
It didn’t want to go back!
It hadn’t learned Mars Rain yet!
Qiao Sang: “…”
What to do when your own Pet Beast is too serious…
Qiao Sang could only squat down to explain, “You just learned a new skill, which is already amazing. We must take things slowly; we’ll practice Mars Rain next time.”
She needed to hurry and talk the Fire-Toothed Dog into leaving. Even if they stayed here and practiced all night long, there would be no progress on Mars Rain.
If a high-level skill could be mastered that quickly, would it still be considered high-level?
Mars Rain being classified as a high-level skill meant that its power and difficulty were on par.
“Yah!”
