On Chao Su Star, humans and Pet Beasts used the same restroom facilities. Indeed, one should get out more often; otherwise, one wouldn’t even know this... Qiao Sang felt she had gained another wave of insight.
One minute later.
"Are you done?" Qiao Sang asked patiently.
There was no response from inside the restroom.
Three minutes later, Qiao Sang asked with growing impatience, "Still not finished?"
Still, there was no movement inside.
Five minutes later, Qiao Sang could no longer restrain herself and knocked on the restroom door.
As she knocked, the door opened slightly.
Qiao Sang suddenly realized something wasn’t right. She pushed the door fully open, only to find the restroom was empty, with no Pet Beast in sight.
She looked up and noticed a window, which was wide open.
Quite the escape artist, it had left early, leaving her to wait for so long... Qiao Sang grumbled to herself as she entered the restroom stall.
...
By the time Qiao Sang returned to the banquet hall, Yuna kindly inquired:
"Did you get a stomachache? Do you want me to call the family doctor to have a look at you?"
Qiao Sang declined, "I’m fine, no need to bother the doctor."
Yuna smiled and said, "It’s no bother, our family doctor has a Mumu bud that knows a healing Skill. It’s just a matter of using one skill."
A twitch formed at the corner of Qiao Sang’s mouth: "I really am fine."
Just as Yuna was about to say something more, Tang Yi interjected, "Qiao Sang has a Pet Beast back in our place that’s known as the ’Divine Healer’. If she were truly in trouble, she could heal herself."
"Divine Healer?" Yuna perked up with interest, "What is the name of that Pet Beast?"
"Bingke Xilu," Qiao Sang replied.
Yuna looked at Qiao Sang, "Could you summon that Pet Beast? I’d like to see just how healing it is."
Qiao Sang chuckled, "If nobody’s injured, how can you tell whether it’s healing effectively or not?"
"That’s easy," Yuna said with a smile, "The butler just reported that a wild Pet Beast has breached our defenses. Once it’s captured, we’ll give it a hard time, and then you can have your Bingke Xilu heal it. I’d like to see how well it recovers."
Qiao Sang’s smile faded, "That seems unnecessary, perhaps it just accidentally wandered in."
Yuna paused, then chuckled, "Are all of you from Blue Star this kind to wild Pet Beasts?"
Qiao Sang and Tang Yi exchanged a glance with Yuna, maintaining their silence.
Realizing the atmosphere had turned somewhat chilly, Yuna’s expression became a bit more earnest:
"Wild Pet Beasts are mostly dangerous. This area is my personal territory, and it shouldn’t have intruded. Have you considered what might happen if it harmed someone at the banquet? Isn’t it right to catch it and teach it a lesson?"
For the first time, Qiao Sang clearly sensed the gap between Blue Star and Chao Su Star in their attitudes toward Pet Beasts.
She was not especially tender-hearted, but she could understand the perspective of the people on Chao Su Star.
Imagine if her initial transmigration destination had been Chao Su Star, and to make matters worse, if she had lived in the Lower Districts, where wild Pet Beasts roamed everywhere, occasionally attacking humans. She would definitely associate Pet Beasts with the word "danger" at all times.
Different environments breed different perceptions; she had always understood this principle.
