LILY
There is every possibility Maya will be charged to court for murder. Every evidence including her statement proves that she knows something about what happened to Richard, and it is either she is the one, or she is protecting whoever did it.
As far as I know, there is only person that Maya would want to protect is Salome is her mother. So there is also a possibility that Salome is the culprit.
My phone vibrated and I reached for it thinking it was Ryan, but I saw Neo’s name on the screen instead. Swiping the answer icon, I placed the phone to my ear. “Neo? Do you have any lead?”
“Yes ma’am.” He responded, “I traced them, and I learned that the residence is occupied by three men, and they only moved in three months ago.”
That doesn’t prove anything. “How is that a lead.”
“I deployed more men with authorization from Mr. Ryan, and they have been trailing two of the men, while I have been trialing one.”
Oh… Ryan never mentioned it. “And? Did you discover something?”
“Yes ma’am. He was at the pharmacist last week, and he ordered drugs for kids.” My heart skipped at his words, “As far as I know he has no kids, likewise the rest, so he has no business buying drugs for kids.”
“So what is stopping you from breaking down their doors?” I demanded, “What is stopping you from breaking that door and bringing down my kids!”
“I think this is the best time to bring in the police ma’am.” He advised, “Going into their house is a forceful break-in, a felony, and if the kids happen not to be there, you can get sued and that isn’t something we want.”
“I don’t care about the law!” I hissed at him, “What I want is to have my sons back home, I want my boys back in my arms!”
“Ma’am, let us call the police, and I promise you that we will be on standby. Let them be our entry into that house.”
It is obvious he is not going to bulge and I think it has something to do with Ryan. He must have given them the instruction not to let me do anything illegal. “fine.” I huffed out, “I will put a call across, but make sure you still have your eyes on them. I do not want to hear the excuse that you lost them or shit like that.”
“I won’t.” He assured me and I bit my lips hard to stop the whimper threatening to escape. “ma’am?” Neo called out softly. I guess he sensed that I was trying so hard not to cry right now. “I swear on my life that I am going to bring your boys back to you alive.”

I guess your novel will have few readers cause your course of direction is never firm and it annoys to the core try changing a-bit they should be strangers till the end never reminiscing about their past which is full of lies...
