Kira flinched 

He wiped off a drop of water on her cheek

“What?” Kira’s eyes widened. ‘He promised he wouldn’t do that!‘ 

“It’s his job to keep you safe.” Austyn pinched her cheek. “And Gideon is not safe.“‘ 

Kira’s shoulders drooped. ‘Phew, okay, anyway, I just thought you should know.” 

“Why are you coming clean now? 

*ch, right, because he said something during the call. He knew Henry kidnapped me last week. He said he would get justice for me.” 

‘He said that?” 

“Uh–huh.” Kira nodded. ‘I didn’t think much of it at that time. I didn’t need his help, anyway. But now come to think of it, do you think he could have gone to find Henry?‘ Austyn looked pensive. “It’s a possibility.” 

*What are you planning to do?” 

“Gideon can’t do this alone. Henry has a security detail with him at all times. But I’ll put men to tail him. If Gideon shows up anywhere near him, I’ll know.” 

Austyn looked Kira in the eye. ‘You are right. You don’t need Gideon’s help. I promised 1 would get justice for your father. And I would.” 

‘I believe you.‘ Kira hugged him. ‘I do.” 

‘Mummy? Why are you crying?” 

Kira pulled back in a hurry, waping away her tears. 

Jennie was staring up at her, curious. 

“Mummy’s not crying. Mummy just got.sand in the eye‘ 

Kira fled into the kitchen, hiding her embarrassment at being caught crying by her kids. 

Austyn smiled as he bent down to pick up Jennie, 

He waited till dinner was over.

He dragged Kira into the smaller bedroom and pinned her to the bed, his movements urgent and ravenous. 

He tammed into her when be felt she was ready.
