Still Into You 

Kelly’s POV 

“Thanks for the dinner again, Mr. Walter.” 

He smiled as he closed the car’s door behind. “I should be the one thanking you for this night and just Caleb, please.” 

I bit my bottom lip and nodded. “I’m going inside now. Thanks for the ride.” 

I waved at him before I turned my back and went inside the condominium tower. I left my car in my company because he picked me up for our dinner. We talked about some random things. He actually offered to help me again but I refused. I already have someone by my side… Emily and I think she’s enough. 

“Mommy!” Snow’s energetic voice welcomed me after I entered the unit. I smiled at her as I carried her in my arms. I walked towards the living area and found someone sitting on the couch, collecting Snow’s toys and putting them in the box. 

“Pierce?” My forehead creased as I continued walking. 

He looked at me and smiled. “I was just waiting for you. Ana has a headache so I told her to sleep early.” 

nodded. “Thanks.” 

He stood on his feet and fixed his crumpled long sleeves polo. I saw his coat on the couch when he grabbed it, readying himself to leave. 

“I’m sorry. I met someone and already ate outside.” 

“It’s okay. I was just really waiting for you and…Ana cooked so we already ate.” 

I put Snow down and she ran towards Pierce. She held his hand and looked at me. The smile on my daughter’s face and the happiness in Pierce’s eyes while watching our daughter is making my heart 

clench. Should I…tell him about her now? But… 

“Will you come back again tomorrow, Pierce?” 

Pierce smiled and squatted in front of her. “Just at night, sweetheart. I have work during the day so…” 

Snow nodded happily. “It’s okay, I understand. What’s important is you’re visiting me every night.” 

I bit my bottom lip when Pierce glanced at me and chuckled before he looked at Snow again. “You want me to visit you everyday?” 

“Yes!” 

“Uh…Can I get some water before I leave?” 

Hooked at his face as he faced me. “How about…a coffee before you leave? You seem sleepy and you’re 

driving so…t think a coffee would be better.” 

He smiled and rubbed his eyes. “I guess you’re right.” 

“Pumpkin, go to our room. Wash your feet and go to bed.” 

Snow nodded and waved at Pierce. “Goodnight, Pierce 

“Goodnight, sweetheart.” 

I couldn’t suppress the smile on my lips because of that although I had to turn my back and press my lips

together when Pierce suddenly looked my way. I walked towards the island counter while Pierce sat on the stool, facing me. 

I made two cups of coffee. One for him and for me. 

“Snow is full of love. You raise her very well.” 

I smiled at his comment. “Thank you.” 

He stared at my face while I sat on the stool, facing him. The smoke from the coffee between us seems to be the only thing between us. He’s so closed and I don’t know if I should blame the island counter for 

that. 

“Was it hard? Raising her alone?” 

I looked into his eyes because of that. “It was hard but worth it.” 

Slowly, he nodded and looked at his coffee. “How about… Klay Carver. Does he know…that she’s his daughter?” 

My heartbeat doubled as I watched his curious face, waiting for my answer. My throat seemed to become dry and my mind fell into chaos. I know he’d ask such a thing but I didn’t prepare myself this early. 

“It’s okay if you don’t want to answer. I just…wanna know but I can wait…until you can finally open up to me… Hopefully.” 

I sipped on my coffee and he did too. The dead air between us makes it more awkward. I don’t know but his eyes are making me so weak and scared. I suddenly felt scared of telling him the truth about Snow. We finished our coffee without conversing again. When he said he’s leaving, I pulled myself up as I was about to grab his empty mug when he did the same and our heads bumped into each other. 

“Ouch!” I groaned because it kinda hurt. He panicked and immediately cupped my face, making me look at him as his thumb gently caressed my forehead. 

“I’m sorry. Are you okay?” He looked at me worriedly and when our gazes locked, I gasped, realizing the distance between us. 

He swallowed hard after he noticed it too. My heart started palpitating again when his eyes constantly glanced at my lips. 

I was holding my breath as his eyes settled on mine. He was looking at my eyes as if weighing my reaction and convincing himself to do something without making me angry. 

My hands, resting on the island counter, slowly balled into fists. My toes under the counter curled as I slowly closed my eyes as soon as his face started moving closer. 

It was so slow. Everything seemed to disappear. All I could think about was the anticipation for his lips to press on mine. There’s a hollow in my heart and I feel like it’s slowly getting filled as I feel him getting closer and closer. 

My fists tightened and my heart continued beating loudly and fast. I can feel him. He’s getting closer and closer and closer until… 

“Mommy!” 

I jumped in shock and immediately took a step back. I was panicking so much that I bumped my back on the kitchen counter. I saw Pierce panicked too and he accidentally tripped on the stool. He almost lost his balance but he luckily grabbed on the counter on time.
