True Colors
Kelly’s POV
I was watching the photoshoot of Chris and Lexi for the magazine cover. Lexi seems to be enjoying it but Chris is a bit distructed. He kept on glancing my way and I feel like the saff, around will notice it any minute from now. To get his attention off of me, I pulled myself up and decided to leave.
Luke is waiting in the parking lot as I instructed him. I took my phone out when it beeped. I gripped it when I read a message from the same unknown number that has been sending me messages.
I don’t wanna talk to him but he keeps on insisting to meet. I already removed him in my life the moment he betrayed me and chose his other family. He started sending me messages last year and even up until now, he’s been messaging me at least twice or thrice in a month, asking for forgiveness and asking to meet.
He’s my father. He was a perfect father for me not until I learned about his sins.
When I reached the parking lot, I slowed down when I saw Luke smoking in front of the car while holding something very familiar.
My heart instantly raced after I recognized what’s in his hand. It was my missing lipstick!
My lips trembled and I jumped in nervousness. He started walking towards me with a blank face. It’s probably because of the trauma that I encountered that I turned my back and started walking away from him.
The trembles in my lips reached my hands as I started running in fear.
“MISS”
“KELLY!”
Two familiar voices filled my ear the same time I heard a loud horn of a car. I screamed when someone pulled my wrist. We lost balance and I fell on top of him. He groaned underneath me as he hugged my small frame, protecting me.
“What the fck are you thinking, Kelly? Are you trying to kill yourself?” Pierce scolded me as soon as our eyes met. He was scolding me while checking my
body for a possible injury.
“Pierce…”
“What’s wrong with you?” He asked with a hoarse voice and worried eyes.
That’s when Luke squatted beside us and offered his hand to me. I looked at him as my eyes mirrored my fear. I saw him clenched his jaws and hid his hand.
“Why are you running? Who are you running from? Did that bastard show up again? Where is he?” Pierce started throwing me questions and I couldn’t answer him. I just had an argument with him yesterday. I told him to leave me alone but here we are again. I’m back to his arms again, helplessly.
“Kelly…
know
I gasped as I slowly stood on my feet. I looked at Luke and he’s staring at my face. His face was serious again. Come to think of it. I don’t completely him. He was just a mysterious man who applied to be a driver and I trusted him even when I only knew his name and age. I don’t even know where he lives.
“Kelly, I’m talking to you.” Pierce grabbed my shoulders and made me face him. I swallowed hard as I looked into his eyes.
I swallowed hard. I should face this problem. If that asshole is really Luke, I need to know why he’s doing that to me and I can’t confront him in front of
Pierce.
I shook my head. “Nothing.”
“Liar!” Pierce glared at me. “I know you too well. I know when you’re okay and when you’re not.”
I looked away. “I’ll tell you later.”
“Wha? Why not now?”
“I need to talk to Luke,” I answered as I stared into Luke’s eyes.
“No-”
I looked at Pierce and he immediately stopped and clenched his jaws. “What would you two talk about?”
I stared at him blankly. He stared back for a few seconds before he turned his
back and walked away until he’s a few meters away from us.
I faced Luke again as I gathered all my courage to ask… “W–Why do you have my lipstick?”
He looked me in the eyes. “Would you believe me if I tell you where I found
this?”
I glanced at the lipstick on his palm. I shook my had and swallowed hard. “I–I
