Elimination
Kelly’s POV
Maybe I was badly bruised by the past. That’s why it’s hard for me to trust even the person I dearly cherish.
Standing in front of my table in Foster’s company, I was trying to find the sense of belonging in my mom’s I’d family. I tried so hard, but there was none. I don’t belong in this family. This family doesn’t deserve me,
say.
If mom thinks this family doesn’t deserve to be recognized by her daughter, then maybe I shouldn’t try to
fit in.
“Kelly.”
I slowly turned to the door when Sara Foster entered.
I sat on the chair in front of my desk and crossed my legs, looking at her.
“If not for my position, I won’t come even if you call for me a hundred times. What do you
I want?”
I looked at her and tilted my head, signaling her to sit.
“I’m not here to chit chat with you, Kelly. Tell me what you want, and please, don’t insist on investigating my brother again.”
I chuckled without humor. “That’s not what I want from you. I already have someone doing that.”
Her forehead creased. “What?”
“Sit down, Sara. Let’s talk about transferring my position to you.”
Her eyes widened in fraction. She looked so shocked and doubtful about what I said.
“What do you mean?”
“Connor Foster doesn’t deserve the company. You should take it.”
She shook her head, still doubtful. “What? Mom gave this company to you, Kelly. Are you mocking me?”
“I’m tired of fighting this war.”
She gritted her teeth. “So you’re giving up on giving your mom justice?”
“No. I just need to let go of this company.”
“Because of what? Because of Connor? If you think he’s responsible for your mother’s death all the more you have to defeat him!”
“I only have one condition before giving this company to you, Sara,” I said, ignoring what she said.
Her expression turned grim. “Just what I expected.”
“Your husband is involved, Sara.”
She looked even more shocked. Her eyes widened in horror. “W–What?”
“I don’t care what you’d do to him, but don’t ever give him any position in the company. That’s all I ask.”
“No! No, that’s not true!”
The desperation in her eyes was too much. Obviously, she was blinded by her love for her husband that she couldn’t believe it. Included in the report given to me by attorney Lee was the truth about Connor and
Elmination
Wes‘ involvement in my mother’s death. The statement of some witness was stated in the document, so I don’t understand why Aftorney Lee didn’t proceed with the investigation when he can do that.
That’s the reason why I lled to attorney Lee about the documents. I feel like he’s hiding something.
If you’re doing this to manipulate me-”
“I don’t need riches, Sara. I don’t need it when it will only make me lonely.”
Her lips parted and she looked thorn between believing me or not. Sara isn’t evil. I’ve seen it in her. She was deprived of the rights to belong and she only wants what she deserves. I understand because I wanted it for myself too.
“I’m stepping down, Sara. I will give my position to you. Legally.”
She shook her head again. “If having the company means losing the only person who made me feel wanted, then I don’t want it, Kelly.”
She pulled herself up and turned her back. I pulled myself up too and looked at her.
I spoke before she could leave the office. “You can’t stay with a two–faced man, Sara. He doesn’t deserve you.?
She paused but after I finished my sentence, she immediately left. I swallowed hard and took a deep breath before I sat on the chair again. I can’t convince Sara that easily, but I’ll make sure I eventually will.
I need to eliminate people like her from my plan of revenge. She was the rose among the thorns.
The door swung open again. I thought Sara came back but she didn’t. It was Matt who entered my office and his forehead was creased.
“What did Aunt Sara come here for?”
I shrugged my shoulders as I went to my swivel chair and sat there. “She has business with me and I would ask you the same thing, Matt Foster. What did you come here for?”
He clenched his jaws and sat on the chair in front of me. He looked into my eyes and he looked hesitant. He discovered something and it’s hiding behind the coldness in his eyes.
“Why do you think my dad was involved in your mother’s death?”
I lifted my chin. “He’s the only one who can answer that question, Matt.”
He
pressed his lips together. “What if you don’t find any evidence?”
“I’ll dig deeper and deeper until I find something.”
He took a deep breath and looked away. He gritted his teeth and I saw anger flickered in his eyes. “1-1 heard dad talking to someone over the phone. He mentioned about burning documents. I don’t know who it was.”
Burning? Two people crossed my mind. Luke’s sister and attorney Lee. He didn’t call me again after I told him that the document was burned down together with my unit. If it is Attorney Lee, then it’s only right that I didn’t trust him again. And if it is Luke’s sister, I won’t understand why she had to team up with the possible culprit of her brother’s death.
“Why are you telling me this?” I asked Matt with seriousness in my voice.
He sighed again and looked down. “I love my parents, but if they’re involved in your mother’s death, it’s only right that they pay for it.”
“Thank you for understanding. Matt. But I still can’t trust you.”

“I know. But can you tell me where Emily Is?”
My forehead creased. Has he gone obsessed with her?
“Why?”
“I need to talk to her. She’s been avoiding me.”
The corner of my lips rose as I looked at him. Emily was the reason he’s like this. He must like her a lot.
Rain, Rain
Kell
POV
I held my breath as I entered Anderson’s mansion, Snow immediately greeted me with a kiss and hug and I did the same. She’s going home with me tonight because she called me yesterday using her father’s phone and told me she misses me.
I still can’t remember how shocked I was yesterday when I received a text message from Pierce.
“Let his ass go crazy looking for me.” Emily said while lying on the long couch and eating an apple.
I was cooking our dinner when she came home looking so happy and satisfied. I don’t know what happened, but I realized It’s because of Klay. News about Klay’s syndicate organization was exposed to the authorities and some members were already arrested.
Emily was obviously involved but I don’t think it all just because of her. I remember what Klay said to me in the fast food restaurant. He told me he needs to do something before he surrenders to the police. I think he’s trying to bring down his own organization and I know it involves a lot of powerful people.
I turned the stove off and sat on the single couch beside the long couch. I saw an unread message on my phone and my heart skipped a beat after seeing Pierce’s name on the screen. Distracted, I glanced at Emily before opening the message and I choked with my own saliva when I read the message.
‘I miss you…
My heart started hammering inside my chest and I became even more distracted. Emily noticed it and stole my phone worriedly, but when she read the message, she shot her brow up and smirked at me.
“What is this behavior?”
