Kindness Makers Bind
Kindness Makes Us Blind
Kelly’s POV
“She was shot and she’s pregnant. Please take care of her,” Pierce pleaded with the nurses when they gave us stretchers where Pierce gently laid me.
The doctor immediately attended us. My arm was bleeding heavily which scared Pierce more. He was pale when the doctors told him to stay outside the emergency
giving him assurance that everything will be okay, before the door of the emergency room parted us completely.
I swallowed hard as I bit my bottom lip and endured the pain. I have to stay strong for the baby inside me. I won’t die here.
“We’ll put you to sleep and start the surgery now, Mrs. We have to stop the bleeding and repair the damaged tissue. Please trust us and pray in your sleep”
I nodded at the kind doctor before she ordered one of the nurses to give me anesthesia.
Slowly, I drifted into a deep slumber, dragging me to the dreamland where I saw myself, Pierce and our loved ones, happily bonding in a beautiful place with a lot of flowers.
***Pierce’s POV
“Mr. Anderson!”
I lifted my face and looked at the police officer I was talking to before the shooting. His eyes examined my whole body and I realized my dress shirt was soaked with Kelly’s blood.
Blood. The blood of the woman I love. Seeing her bleeding scares the fck out of me. Seeing her in the emergency room gives me trauma. I don’t think I could ever live a normal life if something happens to her. The officer slowed down as his lips parted. “Mr. Anderson was…shot?”
I sucked my breath and nodded. “Arm. She…bleeds…too much.”
I squeezed my eyes closed as the officer stood in front of me and tapped my shoulders.
“The rider was caught on CCTV. I already sent our men to chase him.”
I clenched my jaws and looked him in the eyes. “Make sure that he won’t be able to escape this, officer. My wife and child are now in danger. We need to catch the person behind this. Whatever it takes, officer. He nodded. “We’re doing everything we can do, Mr. Anderson.”
“Pierce!”
I saw dad walking towards me. He’s with Emily.
“Where’s Kelly?” Emily immediately asked after she saw the blood on my dress shirt.
I swallowed hard and looked at the closed doors of the emergency room. I couldn’t answer, so I only looked at the door to answer her.
“She’s okay, right? It’s just a minor injury, right? Tell me, Pierce!”
My lips parted and I was about to force myself to answer Emily when the door of the emergency room. opened and the doctor came out.
He immediately removed his gloves and pulled his surgical mask down as I rushed to him.

“Doctor, how are they?“.
“The bullet has been removed from her arm. She’s stable now and the baby’s fine too.”
I was able to breathe properly because of what I heard
“Thank you… Thank you so much, doctor.”
I looked at dad. He tapped my shoulders and nodded at me. “You saved them.”
For the very first time, he comforted me. I feel like I want to break down in front of him. I was so scared and those three words from him helped a lot. It means a lot to me.
I sucked my breath and licked my dried lips. I turned to the police officer again, with a more angry expression this time.
“Update me as soon as you catch the shooter, officer,
“Of course, Mr. Anderson. I’ll go ahead for now.”
I looked at dad again. “Where’s my daughter, dad?”
“She’s with your mom and sister. Don’t worry about them. They’re safe.” His eyes remained emotionless but I get it now. He’s just like that. He actually cares but he’s not good at expression.
After Kelly was transferred to the private room, I stayed by her side while holding her hand. I was staring at her face. I even skipped lunch and dinner because I don’t wanna let go of her hand nor take my eyes
of her.
“If you don’t wanna eat, at least drink this.
I lifted my face and looked at dad. He gave me a cup of hot chocolate.
I sighed and accepted it without a word. He stood beside me and tapped my shoulder.
