Chapter 32
Chapter 32
“None of your business. “I smiled coldly.
Lost in his mesmerizing blue eyes, I was about to answer him yes when it crossed my mind that he was poking his nose in my personal life again. And I wasn’t answerable to him at all.
So, taking a deep breath, I straightened up and checked my cell phone,
“Jane is texting me to come back. I gotta go!”
My excuse gave me an easy escape as the mention of my daughter made him serious once. again, Leo sat back and looked at me blankly. Unsettled by his keen gaze, I picked my Jimmy Choo, all set to leave. However, my destination wasn’t home.
I had told Jane about this dinner, and she was okay with it. My daughter was a sweet and understanding girl to begin with. I only used her name to conceal my true intentions of meeting Melody, Leo’s feisty girlfriend.
The dinner was a failure, I couldn’t get any useful answer from Leo like it was impossible to light a candle during a storm. But Melody was his complete opposite. She was spontaneous, blunt, and somewhat crazy, provoking her for truth wouldn’t be difficult.
If she could backstab me after keeping me in the dark for long, I was also aware of her weaknesses due to our friendship. It was the right time to meet her and make her spill the information.
Bidding farewell to my diplomatic host, I spoke formal sentences to express my gratitude for a great evening. But Leo wasn’t on the same page with me. His voice was laced with concern as he spoke,
“It’s getting late, Miss Becker. And you had a few drinks as well. Let me drive you home. safely.”
Hah! Look who is talking about alcohol!
Although I wanted to say that his alcohol tolerance was low, it stayed in my mind as this intimate information could arouse his suspicion. So, using courteous language, I refused

him politely,
“Thank you so much for your consideration, Mr. Leo. But I am good to go. My driver will bring the car for me.”
Leo still looked reluctant, not happy with my decision. But his assistant’s arrival on the scene ended this squabble, he was here to pick up his boss. Leo had no choice but to leave with him.
I just nodded with a polite smile for goodbye as a query was dancing in my head,
“What’s his deal?”
Well, it was none of my business what he felt or thought about me. So, I jerked off the uneasiness and dialed a number, calling Echo,
“Set up a meeting with Melody right now, Echo. I wish to see her.”
As Melody was still in prison, I wanted to meet her there. Meeting my enemy at her worst was in my favor. Moreover, my dress could do wonders in such a case. Melody’s reaction would be much more than a blanched face for sure.
Pleased by my setting, I walked out of the restaurant to see whether Echo came or not. There I saw a black car pulling up before me. Taking it to my secretary’s quick service, I waited for the door to open; however, it turned out to be a grave mistake.
As soon as the door opened, a group of men in black rushed out and attacked me, grabbing my arms. One of them put a hand on my mouth, dragging me inside forcefully. It all happened so suddenly that I couldn’t even scream or react. And when I came back to my senses, the car was racing towards an unknown destination in the dark!
Shoot! I was abducted!
The first thought that came to my mind was my mobile, but they were one step ahead of me. A goon sensed my next move and tried to snatch my phone, but I didn’t lose heart and retaliated with full force.
